Wind River launched version 4.0 of their Wind River Test Management for monitoring, executing and managing embedded device software testing. Wind River Test Management 4.0 enables test coverage at the branch and block level, working directly on optimized production binaries. The full-featured test automation system identifies high-risk segments in production code, enabling optimized testing that focuses just on changes between builds.
Wind River announced version 4.6 of their Simics full system simulator. Simics can simulate the functional behavior of the target hardware, from a single processor to large, complex, and connected electronic systems. Simics 4.6 features the ability to debug software applications that expand over multiple boards, increases team collaboration, and enables target system visualization and surveillance. Wind River Simics v4.6 will be available by the end of this month.

Wind River rolled out updated versions of their platform for Android and framework for Automated Software Testing (FAST) for Android. Wind River Platform for Android and Wind River FAST for Android help developers deliver feature-rich Android devices to market quickly and reliably. Wind River Platform for Android features upgrade paths to future Android releases, including Google Gingerbread and Honeycomb to support a wider range of devices such as tablets. Wind River Platform for Android and Wind River FAST for Android are available now.
Wind River launched version four of their commercial embedded Linux platform. Wind River Linux 4 is based on the Linux 2.6.34+ kernel and GCC 4.4, EGLIBC 2.11 and GDB 7 toolchains. Wind River Linux 4 supports ARM, Intel, MIPS and Power architectures. Wind River Linux 4 will also be compliant with the forthcoming Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) 5.0 standards for high availability and serviceability and Linux Standard Base (LSB) 4.0 certification requirements for application portability. Wind River Linux 4 will be available worldwide later this month.
Wind River rolled out Tilcon Graphics Suite 5.8 for the development and deployment of rich graphical user interfaces for embedded devices. The latest version supports Open Graphics Library (OpenGL) 3D that enables highly customizable and rapid development of high-end GUIs to create improved end-user experiences across a variety of hardware platforms and operating systems, particularly in the aerospace and defense, industrial, and medical market segments.
Wind River Simics 4.4 enables engineers to define, develop, and deploy product using a virtual representation of the target hardware. Wind River Simics 4.4 supports full system simulation and allows original equipment manufacturers to undertake critical software development activities on virtual platforms, independently of any hardware development schedules, semiconductor availability constraints or other limitations. Simics will be available worldwide by the end of May, 2010.
