Mentor Graphics introduced hardware and software solutions to accelerate the verification of High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) version 2.0 products. Mentor verification solutions enable designers to test the HDMI 2.0 devices integrated on their System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, and develop and stress-test their software and hardware with billions of verification cycles before silicon is available. The solutions are available for deployment at customer sites effective immediately.
Real Intent launched the latest version of Ascent Implied Intent Verification (IIV) and Ascent X-Verification (XV) tools. Ascent IIV and Ascent XV offer enhanced support for SystemVerilog, Verilog and VHDL languages, and improve ease of use in both the GUI and low-noise reporting of design issues. The tools also include Verdi3 integration. The newest releases of Ascent IIV and Ascent XV are available now for download. The EDA tools are ideal for early functional analysis of digital designs.
Mentor Graphics has expanded embedded Linux development support for Freescale QorIQ devices with the Mentor Embedded Linux and Sourcery CodeBench products. Mentor Embedded Linux for Freescale’s advanced multicore QorIQ products help engineers create reliable and high performance systems. The Mentor Embedded Linux product for Freescale BSPs is available now.
Texas Instruments introduced WEBENCH Schematic Export. The software is a new online tool for exporting analog designs from TI’s WEBENCH Design Center to computer-aided design (CAD) development platforms from Cadence Design Systems, Mentor Graphics and Altium. With WEBENCH Schematic Export, engineers no longer need to manually enter the design into the CAD platform.
Forte Design Systems launched a new version of Cynthesizer SystemC high-level synthesis (HLS). Cynthesizer v4.3 features improvements in power results and ease of use while expanding their CynWare IP library. This enables design teams to quickly adopt high-level synthesis. New features include new modeling style support, expanded optimization and analysis capabilities, integration with third-party tools and improvements to CynWare intellectual property (IP) cores. Version 4.3 of Forte Cynthesizer is shipping now.
Accellera Systems Initiative has issued a call for papers for the 2013 Design and Verification Conference. The deadline to submit an extended abstract (800 to 1,000 words) is August 21st. DVCon is a conference for the application of languages, tools and methodologies for the design and verification of electron systems and integrated circuits. DVCon 2013 will take place February 25-28, 2012 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California.
Tanner EDA and Aldec teamed together on HiPer Simulation A/MS, which is an integrated co-simulation solution for analog and mixed-signal (A/MS) design. HiPer Simulation A/MS includes Tanner EDA’s T-Spice analog design capture and simulation tool, and Aldec’s Riviera-PRO mixed language digital simulator. The integrated solution helps both analog and digital designers to seamlessly resolve A/MS verification problems from one cohesive, integrated platform. HiPer Simulation A/MS is available on both Windows and Linux.
SynaptiCAD rolled out a new version of their Verilog2VHDL tool. The SynaptiCAD V2V tools translate bidirectionally between Verilog and VHDL source code. The translators are are ideal for converting behavioral and/or RTL-level code to a preferred design language. The V2V translation software is available on Windows and Linux. The SynaptiCAD software can be licensed on either a permanent or leased basis, and both floating and node-locked versions are available.
Symtavision released version 3.1 of SymTA/S and TraceAnalyzer integrated system-level tools for planning, optimizing and verifying embedded real-time systems. Improvements in SymTA/S 3.1 and TraceAnalyzer 3.1 include new Scenario Management, a new FIBEX 3.1 import interface and improved Relative Deadline support. In addition, over 50 functional improvements have been implemented at the request Audi, BMW, Bosch, Daimler, Fiat, General Motors, Infineon and Volkswagen.
MathWorks introduced Phased Array System Toolbox, which enables radar and acoustics engineers to build monostatic, bistatic, and multistatic architectures for a variety of array geometries. The MathWorks tool also gives engineers the ability to model these architectures on stationary or moving platforms. Array analysis and visualization tools enable the evaluation of spatial, spectral, and temporal performance. Phased Array System Toolbox is available now. Prices start at $1,350 (USD).
