SynaptiCAD rolled out a new version of their WaveFormer Pro tool. WaveFormer Pro is a tool for analyzing timing diagrams and translating digital and analog waveforms between simulators and test equipment. The latest version of the tool supports importing and exporting digital and analog waveforms to the latest Agilent and Tektronix logic analyzers and mixed-signal oscilloscopes.
Tektronix introduced the TDS1000C-EDU Digital Oscilloscope Series. The TDS1000C-EDU features digital real-time sampling on all channels, flexible triggering options (edge trigger, pulse width trigger and line selectable triggering), FFT, waveform math (+, -, x), screen cursors, 16 automated measurements, USB connectivity, built-in help menus, autoset function, automated probe check wizard and multiple language support. The Tek TDS1000C-EDU oscilloscope is ideal for first-time oscilloscope users and students.
Tektronix introduced the DPO7000C Series and new 4-, 6- and 8-GHz models of the MSO/DPO/DSA70000C Series of oscilloscopes. The new Tek oscilloscopes help speed debug efforts of serial buses found in many embedded system designs. Tektronix is offering expanded support for MIPI testing with new serial decode solutions for MIPI Alliance’s CSI-2 and DSI specifications. MIPI Alliance specifications feature higher bit rates, and help smartphone manufacturers reduce time-to-market and device integration costs.
Tektronix introduced the MSO/DPO5000 Series mixed signal oscilloscope platform for embedded systems design engineers. The MSO5000 and DPO5000 Series series features eight models ranging from 350 MHz of analog bandwidth and 5 GS/s sample rates to 2 GHz and 10 GS/s for higher-end applications. Record length ranges from 12.5M up to 250M for in-depth analysis and debug. Each model has four analog channels. The MSO models also offer 16 digital channels and built-in parallel bus trigger and decode functionality. In addition, the DPO models are field upgradeable to MSO models.
Tektronix introduced the FCA3000 and FCA3100 Series of timer/counter/analyzers and the MCA3000 Series of microwave counter/analyzers. Instruments such as the FCA and MCA Series are used for measurement and analysis of frequency, time or phase signal parameters in design, production, calibration labs or in field applications such as radar equipment monitoring and test. The FCA3000/3100 and MCA3000 Series are available now. Prices start at $2,450 U.S. MSRP and includes the Limited Tektronix Edition of LabVIEW SignalExpress from National Instruments and a trial version of TimeView modulation domain analysis software. All models are backed by a 3-year warranty.
Tektronix introduced the the TLA6000 Series logic analyzers. The TLA6000 offers high-end debug and analysis for embedded systems designers. The TLA6000 logic analyzers are available in 68, 102, and 136 digital channel configurations with 125 ps high speed timing on all channels, up to 450 MHz state timing and up to 128 Mb record length. The new logic analyzer is now available globally. The TLA6000 Series has a base system configuration price of $19,800 U.S. MSRP. The TLA6000 Series is ideal for debug and analysis applications — including signal integrity analysis, FPGA debug and verification, MIPI protocol analysis, memory system validation, and embedded software integration and debug.
Tektronix announced new new firmware and software upgrades for their WFM6000/7000 and WVR6000/7000 Series of waveform monitors. The upgrades support the ITU-R BS.1770-1/1771 specifications. The new firmware and software upgrades include capabilities such as an Audio Loudness Meter, an Audio Loudness Session Display and the first audio loudness monitoring of Dolby Digital Plus audio.
National Instruments and Tektronix announced the Measurement and Analysis Techniques for Embedded System Design Engineers Seminar. The event will take place from March 2 through May 18 in 11 cities. The free, half-day technical seminars help engineers increase efficiency in embedded system design processes. The seminars focus on time-saving techniques for measurement and analysis and illustrates how integrating tools such as Tektronix oscilloscopes with NI LabVIEW graphical system design software can significantly enhance design efficiency and accuracy.

The 40-minute, comprehensive webcast will offer insight on what to look for, where the ‘gotchas’ lie, and how and where signal interaction and crosstalk can throw the system off. Tektronis has made several enhancements to the DPO7000 Series Oscilloscopes. Some of these improvements are: support for the Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) D-PHY standard, new UART/RS-232 protocol analysis software, and four passive probes and three analysis tools as part of standard configurations. The new MIPI D-PHY and UART/RS-232 options are available now for the DPO7000 Series and DPO/DSA70000B Series. The new MIPI solution is available on the new MSO70000 Series as well.
