Tanner EDA and Aldec teamed together on HiPer Simulation A/MS, which is an integrated co-simulation solution for analog and mixed-signal (A/MS) design. HiPer Simulation A/MS includes Tanner EDA’s T-Spice analog design capture and simulation tool, and Aldec’s Riviera-PRO mixed language digital simulator. The integrated solution helps both analog and digital designers to seamlessly resolve A/MS verification problems from one cohesive, integrated platform. HiPer Simulation A/MS is available on both Windows and Linux.
Cadence Design Systems made two announcements today. First, the company developed new in-circuit acceleration based on the Incisive and Palladium XP platforms for their System Development Suite. Cadence’s second announcement involved extensions to the Verification IP Catalog for acceleration and emulation that enable engineers to go beyond simulation to speed verification of large-scale SoCs, sub-systems and systems.
Mentor Graphics rolled out version 10.1 of their Questa functional verification platform. The 10.1 release features increased simulation and verification performance, enhanced support of the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM), accelerated coverage closure, and low power verification with comprehensive Unified Power Format (UPF) support. Questa functional verification platform is a tightly integrated solution for the functional verification of complex System-on-Chip (SoC), ASIC and FPGA designs.
Vishay Intertechnology announced their new PowerCAD simulation tool. The PowerCAD simulator is a free online tool that gives engineers a fast and convenient way to test and optimize DC/DC circuits built with Vishay Siliconix regulator ICs. Vishay’s PowerCAD simulator tool is ideal for both experienced analog and power designers as well as junior or digital designers with less experience in high-power, high-frequency voltage regulator design.
MathWorks introduced Phased Array System Toolbox, which enables radar and acoustics engineers to build monostatic, bistatic, and multistatic architectures for a variety of array geometries. The MathWorks tool also gives engineers the ability to model these architectures on stationary or moving platforms. Array analysis and visualization tools enable the evaluation of spatial, spectral, and temporal performance. Phased Array System Toolbox is available now. Prices start at $1,350 (USD).
HSPICE 2011.09 has been integrated with Sigrity’s signal integrity analysis solution to accelerate signal integrity simulation of high-speed systems. The combined Synopsys and Sigrity tool features up to 3X faster simulation of signal and power integrity analysis of multi-gigahertz designs. In addition, HSPICE 2011.09 circuit simulator offers enhanced multi-core simulation performance, improved accuracy in statistical eye-diagram analysis, and new multi-core enabled S-parameter and W-element analysis.
Mentor Graphics introduced an integrated solution for thermal characterization and simulation. The integrated solution features their T3Ster hardware test products with their FloTHERM software. The Mentor Graphics integrated T3Ster and FloTHERM solution helps accurate thermal simulation models. The thermal characterization solution is the only JESD51-14 compliant solution available on the market today. The integrated solution for efficient thermal package characterization is available now.
Mentor Graphics introduced the latest version of their FloEFD concurrent computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation tool. FloEFD is now available with two new optional modules: (1) Advanced Module for combustion and hypersonic flows and (2) HVAC Module for radiation flow and comfort parameters. The new version of FloEFD now supports more languages (such as German, French, Japanese and Chinese). FloEFD helps mechanical engineers who may not be experts in general fluid dynamics or thermal simulation to effectively conduct analyses and to create better products faster.
According to Mentor Graphics, their Questa and Veloce functional verification platforms have expanded their support for designs based on the latest ARM Cortex processors and AMBA bus interfaces. The Questa Codelink with support for ARM Cortex A7, Cortex A15, other Cortex A-family, Cortex R-family, and Cortex M-family processors and Questa Verification IP with support for AMBA4 ACE are available now.
Tecplot Chorus is a simulation analytics tool for engineers. Tecplot Chorus integrates metadata analysis, post-processing, and simulation data management in one software tool. It enables engineers to see trends and anomalies in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies and gain insight into the underlying, fluid-dynamic phenomena that cause these variations. Pricing for the Chorus starts at $7,500 per year for a shared (floating) annual license. Tecplot Chorus is available on 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Vista, and XP, 64-bit Linux platforms.
