ams has developed a reference design that shows how a simple current and voltage measurement circuit can produce state of charge (SOC) readings for electric scooter batteries. The reference design features ams’ AS8510, which is a two-channel battery sensor interface. The reference design is available free to ams customers.
XMOS and Attero Tech introduced a reference design for audio/visual bridging (AVB) applications. The reference design features the XCore XS1-L2 dual-core processor. XCore processors enables engineers to implement the AVB standard entirely in software, which reduces development times and decreases risk for A/V designs. XCore processors also reduce the cost for AVB endpoints by more than 50% compared to other solutions (such as FPGA implementations). The reference design will be generally available from both XMOS and Attero Tech in December.
Microchip Technology unveiled a reference design for a fully digitally controlled Grid-Connected Solar Micro Inverter. The reference design connects to any standard solar panel and converts the panel’s DC output into AC power, which can then be fed into the public power grid. In a real-world application, multiple units can be connected together to achieve the desired power output. The free reference design includes complete documentation, software, schematics and application note.
Semtech and Microchip Technology introduced the SX1230-13RKEA433 turnkey reference design for multi-band wireless remote keyless entry (RKE) systems. The reference design integrates Semtech’s transmitter and transceiver ICs with Microchip’s KEELOQ code-hopping technology running on PIC microcontrollers (MCUs). The platform is ideal for the development of secure, high-performance and cost-effective RKE systems for vehicles, office buildings, and homes. SX1230-13RKEA433 provides a single platform that works across virtually all major frequency regulations. The reference design kit is available now from Semtech.
XMOS created the first USB Audio Class 2.0 reference design for high channel count computer audio interfaces, DJ and live sound mixers, musical instruments and digital effects devices. XMOS USB Audio 2.0 solutions help developers of audio devices to quickly bring products to market which support the latest digital audio at the highest audio quality. The XMOS USB Audio Class 2.0 reference design goes on general release at the end of July. The source code of the reference design will be available free of charge under a royalty free license. All hardware schematics and design files are available for download.
Unicoi Systems introduced the Fusion Embedded reference designs for radio over IP (RoIP) applications. The common functionality between RoIP and VoIP applications makes Fusion Embedded VoIP reference designs ideal solutions for engineers designing RoIP devices. The Fusion Embedded VoIP Gateway and Terminal Adapter reference designs provide low power SIP voice processing within a secure jumpstart platform for integrating new or legacy devices into an IP network.
XMOS introduced a reference design for USB Audio 2.0. The solution enables standard computer-based systems to deliver bit-perfect prosumer quality sound. The reference design works with the Mac OS-X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Audio 2.0 native class driver, and XMOS has teamed with Thesycon to provide Audio 2.0 Class driver support for Windows. The XMOS USB Audio 2.0 reference design kit is available now and priced at $149 USD.
