Real Time 2010 is seeking papers, presentations, and tutorials. The Real Time conference is ideal for engineers, engineering management, professors, researchers and students involved in the design, testing, and simulation of electric drives, electrical and mechanical systems, and fast-switching power electronics found in a wide range of applications in the aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, power generation, and transportation industries. The deadline to submit an abstract is March 31, 2010. Final manuscripts and presentations must be submitted by Monday May 3, 2010.
The OMG Real-time, Embedded and Enterprise-Scale Time-Critical Systems Workshop will be held on May 24-26, 2010 in Arlington, VA, USA. The embedded systems workshop provides a forum for software engineers and researchers to learn about new design approaches, share their experiences, and find out about emerging standards. An early-bird registration discount is available until Monday, April 19, 2010.
The Pentek RTS 2711 Real-Time Data Recording Instrument is a PC-based recorder. It includes a complete PC workstation running Windows XP, housed in a rack-mount 4U chassis. The Pentek RTS 2711 offers simultaneous digitizing and recording of two signals at sampling rates of 500 Megasamples/sec. The price of the RTS 2711 starts at $58,995 USD. CoFluent Design has developed a new methodology that combines the OMG’s (Object Management Group) standards UML (Unified Modeling Language), SysML (System Modeling Language), and MARTE (Modeling and Analysis for Real-Time and Embedded Systems) profile. By offering a link from UML to CoFluent Studio and its automatic SystemC code generation, CoFluent Design makes UML models executable and applicable for multicore system virtualization and performance prediction.
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced controlSUITE software for their TMS320C2000 microcontrollers (MCUs) that enable real-time control applications. controlSUITE software simplifies evaluation, application adaptation, debug, test, and reuse. C2000 controlSUITE software includes libraries and examples that are full, open source projects, serving as true development systems for applications such as motor control. In addition, a new installer eliminates frustrations related to versioning and dependencies and gives developers access to the complete software offering in a centralized location.
Perforce Software rolled out version 2009.2 of their Software Configuration Management (SCM) system. The latest release features shelving, real-time metadata replication, and additional functionality for working offline. Perforce 2009.2 is available now. Perforce pricing is all-inclusive; there are no add-on components that require licensing. End-user licenses for the complete solution, including one year of support and maintenance, start at $900 per seat; volume discounts are available.
Energy Micro introduced a development kit for their EFM32 Gecko MCU family. The EFM32 Gecko Development Kit is an Advanced Energy Monitoring (AEM) system for engineers. Thanks to a large in-built LCD screen and preconfigured GUI, AEM enables developers to accurately view a prototype application’s current consumption data in real time, enabling early identification and removal of adverse energy drains. The EFM32 Gecko development kit is priced at $299 USD.
