Tensilica introduced their ConnX BBE32UE digital signal processor IP core. The ConnX BBE32UE DSP core is ideal for baseband SOC (system-on-chip) designs. Coupled with Tensilica Baseband Dataplane processors (DPUs), the new core can help engineers realize a fully software programmable, flexible modem for LTE-Advanced user equipment category 7 PHY (Layer 1) in less than 200mW (28 nm HPL process). The ConnX BBE32UE is available now for early access customers. General product release is planned for the third quarter of 2012.
Simulink PLC Coder, from The MathWorks, is a tool that generates IEC 61131 structured text for programmable logic controller (PLC) and programmable automation controller (PAC) devices. With Simulink PLC Coder, engineers can automatically generate code for industrial control systems, including closed-loop and supervisory control applications. Simulink PLC Coder enables Model-Based Design for manufacturing and power generation equipment controlled by PLCs and PACs. Simulink PLC Coder is available now. U.S. list prices start at $10,000.
Coware is offering a webinar, entitled “Custom Processor / Programmable Accelerator Design and Implementation.” The webcast will take place Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:00 am Pacific (1:00 pm Eastern). The online seminar is one hour long and is free to attendees. The webinar will be presented by Drew Taussig (Senior Product Specialist for the Processor Design solutions at CoWare).
Cypress Semiconductor rolled out over 30 intellectual property (IP) elements for the new PSoC 3 programmable system-on-chip architectures. The embedded design resources include example projects, application notes, and solution overviews. The resources enable engineers to quickly implement designs using the unique new PSoC Creator integrated development environment (IDE). The solution IP Elements are available for free online.
