Express Logic PrismX for the STM32 Processors

Express Logic’s PrismX GUI software development solution now supports the STMicroelectronics STM32 processor family. PrismX is a ThreadX RTOS-integrated port of Blue Water Embedded’s Prism technology. It is ideal for resource-constrained devices such as STMicroelectronics Cortex-M3-based STM32. PrismX features a high-performance graphical drawing library and a GUI widget set for the STM32 platform. PrismX for the STM32F10C is available in full source code form, royalty free. Lucid Virtu GPU Virtualization Software

LucidLogix recently introduced Virtu, which is a Lucid GPU virtualization software. Virtu is designed for Intel Sandy Bridge platforms. Lucid Virtu helps computers dynamically balance the power-efficient, built-in media features of Sandy Bridge processor graphics with the high-end, DirectX 11 3D performance features of discrete GPUs, while significantly reducing the power drain of traditional entertainment desktops. The beta version of Lucid will be available in January 2011. The demo version of Lucid GPU virtualization software is available now for evaluation.

Synopsys DesignWare ARC AS 221 Processor Core for Bluray Disc Players

A couple of announcements by Synopsys yesterday: (1) DesignWare ARC AS 221 BD dual-core processor has been optimized for high-definition (HD) audio applications and (2) three new enhancements to their DesignWare ARC 600 32-bit configurable processor family. The DesignWare AS 221 BD and the new enhancement options to the DesignWare ARC 600 family cores are available now. Synopsys’ DesignWare ARC cores enable engineers to lower integration risk and speed time-to-market for their embedded system-on-chip (SoC) designs.

XMOS USB Audio 2.0 Reference Design for High Audio Channel Count

XMOS created the first USB Audio Class 2.0 reference design for high channel count computer audio interfaces, DJ and live sound mixers, musical instruments and digital effects devices. Design Automation Conference – Embedded SOC Enablement Day

The 47th Design Automation Conference (DAC) will include three sessions focused on embedded processor-based systems-on-chip (SOCs) and their enablement on Thursday, June 17th. The Embedded/SOC Enablement Day is a day-long track of sessions dedicated to bringing industry stakeholders together in one room to shed light on where SOC design is headed.
