Synopsys System Studio with Matrix and Vector Data-Type Support

Synopsys introduced new capabilities for their System Studio C/C++ model-based analysis and simulation environment. System Studio now supports matrix and vector data-type, which reduces the coding and debugging effort necessary to author signal processing simulation models. In addition, System Studio integrates highly efficient parallelized matrix and vector function libraries optimized for multicore systems. The function libraries speed up simulation performance by up to eight times (8x).

JEDA Intelligent Traffic Profile Generator

JEDA Technologies introduced the Intelligent Traffic-profile Generator (ITG). JEDA ITG is a dynamic traffic profile generator for ESL model verification. For advanced multi-core designs, ITG addresses the need for early architecture exploration when software or a particular device model is not available yet. JEDA ITG is available for Windows and Linux.

Renesas SH-4A Core Model from CoWare

CoWare introduced a high-speed model for Renesas Technology’s (Renesas) SH-4A core model. The model is already in use at Renesas for the creation of high-speed virtual platforms targeted at Renesas customers in the automotive, consumer and wireless markets. The Renesas SH-4A core model is available now from CoWare for use in CoWare Platform Architect and CoWare Virtual Platform, release 2010.1. The model was developed in tight collaboration between CoWare and Renesas ensuring the highest level of quality and verification to Renesas’ test suite.

XAML Plug-in Connects EB GUIDE Studio to Microsoft Expression Blend

EB (Elektrobit) announced a new XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) plug-in to connect the EB GUIDE Studio HMI development tool to Microsoft Expression Blend. As a result, complex HMIs developed with Expression Blend and the description language XAML can now be easily specified and administered. The XAML plug-in for EB GUIDE Studio will be available from EB in the first quarter of 2010.

Variety MX for Embedded Memories Statistical Timing Model Generator

Variety MX, from Altos Design Automation, is a fast and accurate statistical timing model generator for embedded memories. Variety MX generates instance-specific Liberty models for use by Cadence’s Encounter Timing System GXL, Extreme DA’s Goldtimetm, and Synopsys PrimeTime VX. Variety MX is able to characterize memory sizes that cannot be adequately simulated using brute Monte Carlo methods or even with fast sampling techniques. Variety MX is available now.
