Power.org, ENEA, Freescale Semiconductor, and IBM are offering two educational webinars. The first webinar, QorIQ Qonverge – Complete Wireless Solutions for Small to Large Cells, will take place March 24 at 2:00 pm CT. It will be hosted by ENEA and Freescale Semiconductor. The second webinar, HPC – Innovative technologies for power management based on Power Architecture, will take place March 29 at 10:00 am CT. It will be hosted by IBM. The two webcasts are ideal for people dealing with power management issues in embedded mobile networking and high performance compute (HPC) applications.
Arteris and EVE teamed together on an integrated solution for system-on-chip (SoC) developers. The design flow enables engineers to generate and use actual SoC register transfer level (RTL) implementations on EVE’s ZeBu-Server emulation platform. The integration flow helps SoC developers create and ship products sooner.
Kozio kDiagnostics Suite is now available free use to PandaBoard users. PandaBoard is an open OMAP 4 applications processor-based mobile software development platform. In addition to being a full design verification and hardware validation solution, kDiagnostics is an interactive guide to the inner workings of PandaBoard and the Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP4430 applications processor.
According to International Data Corporation (IDC), worldwide PC microprocessor unit shipments and revenues in the third calendar quarter of 2010 (3Q10) increased 2.1% and 2.5%, respectively, compared to 2Q10. Worldwide PC microprocessor unit shipments and revenues in the third calendar quarter of 2010 (3Q10) increased 8.6% and 24.1%, respectively, compared to the third quarter of 2009. The findings were published in IDC’s latest PC processor study, Worldwide PC Microprocessor 3Q10 Vendor Shares.
Synopsys has added Time Division Duplex (TDD) mode to their Long-term Evolution (LTE) Model Library for physical layer system simulation. TDD mode helps developers of semiconductors for LTE network equipment and devices to quickly and reliably extend designs to support the third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) LTE standard. The TDD-enhanced LTE Model Library is available now for use in SPW. Support for System Studio will be available this year. Existing licensees of the LTE Model Library will receive the TDD enhancement as a regular maintenance update.
The Kozio kDiagnostics Design Suite for the Blaze Mobile Development Platform (MDP) is available now for a 30-day free trial. Texas Instruments used kDiagnostics Design Suite to wake-up, test, and manufacture the Blaze. The kDiagnostics Design Suite helps engineers explore and understand the Blaze MDP, verify that it is performing properly and access and control its low-level hardware and high-level functionality. Developers can use Kozio kDiagnostics Design Suite to run diagnostic tests on their hardware using an intuitive graphical user interface.
