VIA Labs introduced the SuperMUTT Pack USB test tool. The VIA tool is part of the Microsoft USB Test Tool kit (MUTT) and is an integral part of the Windows Hardware Certification Kit (WHCK). The SuperMuttPack integrates a VIA Labs VL811+ USB 3.0 Hub Controller. It is designed to work with the MUTT family of devices. The SuperMUTTPack USB test tool kit includes a SuperMUTT Pack Device, a USB 3.0 cable, 12V power supply, and an instruction manual. The WHCK can be downloaded separately from Microsoft.
Cadence Design Systems launched version 16.6 of their Allegro printed circuit board technology. The PCB tool is the first electrical CAD (ECAD) team collaboration environment for PCB design using Microsoft SharePoint technology. Cadence Allegro, integrated with SharePoint, improves team collaboration, design creation and control, and significant productivity improvements. Allegro v16.6 will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
ISaGRAF rolled out version 6.0 of their IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499 compliant firmware and workbench for building industrial automation products. ISaGRAF 6.0 leverages the Microsoft Visual Studio Shell and offers an environment for OEMs and automation vendors to create differentiated products for their markets. The ISaGRAF 6 Workbench is based on an open plug-in technology designed specifically for industrial automation needs.
EB (Elektrobit) announced a new XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) plug-in to connect the EB GUIDE Studio HMI development tool to Microsoft Expression Blend. As a result, complex HMIs developed with Expression Blend and the description language XAML can now be easily specified and administered. The XAML plug-in for EB GUIDE Studio will be available from EB in the first quarter of 2010.
Microsoft has an archived webinar some of you may be interested in. It’s a technical overview of Windows Embedded Standard 2011. The webcast was originally broadcasted earlier this month. The online seminar was presented by Shabnam Erfani, Lead Program Manager at Microsoft. As a lead program manager on the Windows Embedded team for the past three years, Shabnam focuses on planning and scoping the Windows Embedded Standard 2011 product. She has an extensive development background in network security and embedded systems and has worked on many related products both in Microsoft and outside of Microsoft.
