Magma Design Automation introduced SiliconSmart ACE Memory Characterization. It features the FineSim Pro simulation technology, dynamic circuit reduction through smart netlist pruning, automatic internal node identification, constraint acceleration, and template-guided function descriptions for vector generation. With SiliconSmart ACE Memory Characterization, integrated circuit (IC) designers can reduce turnaround time and deliver better results for designs targeted at 28-nanometer (nm) and smaller process nodes. SiliconSmart ACE Memory Characterization is an extension to SiliconSmart ACE and is available now.
Magma Design Automation announced their Titan Up! program to help analog designers learn the latest technologies for analog and mixed-signal design. Current and prospective Magma customers can take a quiz to enter a drawing for an Apple iTouch. The Titan Up! online quizzes allows designers to test their knowledge of analog design basics and analog IC history. Eash week, an Apple iTouch will be given away.
Magma Design Automation introduced FineSim Fast Monte Carlo, which is a new alternative to traditional Monte Carlo analysis. FineSim Fast Monte Carlo makes it possible to achieve much more accurate statistical analysis as much as 100 times faster than traditional Monte Carlo methods. FineSim Fast Monte Carlo is available now for production use with FineSim SPICE and FineSim Pro for fast, accurate statistical circuit analysis.
Magma Design Automation launched Tekton timing analysis platform. The Tekton platform includes QCP, which is a fast, high-capacity, full-chip extractor that delivers results with the accuracy of the industry standard, QuickCap. Tekton and QCP are in limited release. According to Magma, Tekton is the only STA solution that meets the multi-scenario analysis problems of today and five years from now — on a single machine without any investment in new hardware. General availability will begin in June 2010.
The Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits (MUSIC) conference will take on March 10 in San Jose. MUSIC will feature parallel tracks of technical presentations and tutorials given by Magma users, design industry experts and Magma Design Automation’s engineering research and development staff, and an exposition of Magma partners. The Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits is a forum for Magma users to exchange ideas, discuss common problems and explore solutions related to the design and manufacturing of integrated circuits.
Magma Design Automation issued a call for papers for the 2010 Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits (MUSIC) user conferences. MUSIC Silicon Valley will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose on March 10, MUSIC China will be on March 23 at the Shanghai Hotel in Shanghai, and MUSIC India will take on March 30 at the Taj Residency in Bangalore. In a new offering for the 2010 MUSIC events, Magma is requesting additional topics from users. Users whose suggested topics are added to the agenda will win a Dell Inspiron Mini netbook.
