Excel Software introduced LicenseCard. The software tool for Mac and Windows enables developers to create applications, plugins, protected documents and other types of commercial software. LicenseCard 1.0 is priced at $395 for either Mac or Windows computers or $690 for both platforms. The software includes royalty-free runtime distribution rights for any number of protected products or licenses.
Cadence Design Systems introduced 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet media access controller and physical coding sub-layer IP cores. The new Cadence 40/100 GbE MAC and PCS IP cores speed the deployment of SoCs for networking and high-performance computing. The design IP, including MAC and PCS, as well VIP, emulation and virtual prototyping support, are available now.
Microchip Technology introduced the MPLAB X IDE for the development of embedded applications using their PIC microcontrollers and dsPIC digital signal controllers. With MPLAB X IDE, engineers can manage multiple projects and tools with simultaneous debugging, an advanced editor, visual call graphs and code completion. The open-source integrated development environment supports Linux, Mac OS and Windows operating systems. MPLAB X IDE beta is available now for free download.
Excel Software launched QuickLicense Server 1.0 for Mac and Windows. The QuickLicense Server enables software vendors to generate a vendor-branded, floating license system for their products. Vendors enjoy royalty free, server distribution for any number of products or licenses. QuickLicense Server 1.0 is available for $995 for a Single User License on either Windows (XP and Vista) or Mac OS X (PPC and Intel). The package includes a printed and PDF User Guide with step-by-step tutorial.
