Kontron introduced the SMARC Starterkit. The ready-to-use kit enables developers to get started with embedded ARM processors. The Kontron SMARC Starterkit includes a sturdy transport case, has all the cables already connected and is equipped with all the necessary components, including a display and power supply. All documentation is provided on a USB drive. The Kontron kit is available now.
Kontron introduced their COM Express Starterkit Ref. Carrier T10. The COMe Starterkit features the Kontron COM Express Reference Carrier-i Type 10, 7″ WVGA touch panel, cables, PSU, and sturdy aluminium case. The Kontron COMe Starterkit Ref. Carrier T10 is configured to make evaluation and development of small form factor and mobile applications easy. The Kontron COM Express Starterkit Type 10 with the COM Express Reference Carrier-i Type 10 is available now.
Kontron introduced their COM Express Starterkit Type 6. The kit features an Evaluation Board that provides an easy plug-in of COM Express modules and line-up many connectors and jacks. The starterkit also includes PSU, USB stick, cables and documentation. The Kontron starterkit helps application developers develop and evaluate new systems based on the latest COM Express pin-out Type 6 Computer-on-Modules. Samples of the Kontron COM Express Starterkit Type 6 are available now. Series production is scheduled for August.
Kontron announced their machine-to-machine (M2M) Smart Services Developer Kit, which was co-developed with Intel. The Kontron M2M kit enables engineers to develop and test application’s connectivity and performance, then quickly deploy. The new M2M Developer Kit houses a COM Express compatible Kontron nanoETXexpress-TT COM (Intel Atom processor E640 1 GHz) and other Kontron M2M System boards in a 67mm x 100mm x 27mm chassis. The kit features an external USB port, 4 gigabyte (GB) internal MicroSD card, built-in accelerometer, dual HDMI and HD audio support, and an integrated 802.15.4 WPAN transceiver. The Kontron M2M Developer Kit will be available worldwide in early Q3.
Kontron announced the Kontron Embedded Application Programming Interface (Kontron EAPI), which is a cross-platform middleware. Thanks to Kontron EAPI, access and control of hardware resources for embedded applications has been standardized. Kontron EAPI is compliant to the PICMG’s EAPI but independent of form factors and operating systems and offers an extended feature set. The first products to feature the new Kontron EAPI are the Kontron embedded motherboard KTQ45, the Kontron COM Express Computer-on-Module nanoETXexpress-SP and Kontron’s MICROSPACE MPCX line of industrial PCs.
