Mentor Graphics introduced the Embedded Hypervisor tool for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems, telematics, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and instrumentation. The Mentor Embedded Hypervisor is a small footprint Type 1 hypervisor developed specifically for embedded applications and intelligent connected devices. The Mentor Embedded Hypervisor product will ship in December 2013.
Mentor Graphics and Freescale Semiconductor teamed together to speed the deployment of automotive IVI systems based on the new i.MX6 processors. As a result of their collaboration, the Mentor Embedded Linux In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Base Platform is now available for the Freescale i.MX6 series of scalable, multicore ARM Cortex A9-based processors.
The Mentor Graphics Embedded In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Base Platform now meets the compliance requirements of the GENIVI Alliance. The Mentor Embedded IVI Base Platform integrates graphics, communication and multimedia middleware with libraries, system infrastructure, and management components on top of Linux and relevant drivers. GENIVI Alliance is an automotive and consumer electronics industry association for the collaborative development of open source IVI systems.
