Synopsys recently released a new version of their IC Compiler software. Release 2013.03 features innovations to speed design as well as enables the latest process nodes. IC Compiler 2013.03 includes advanced optimizations to enable high-speed design, efficient implementation of final-stage engineering change orders (ECO) and fully color-ready, tapeout-proven support for the emerging FinFET-based silicon processes.
Synopsys announced their new Galaxy Custom Router. The Galaxy Custom Router technology provides automatic routing for complex high-speed digital and mixed-signals nets that require carefully crafted, high-quality layouts, such as shielded buses or nets, differential pairs, twisted pairs and matched resistance and capacitance (RC) routing. Galaxy Custom Router is key to a unified solution for digital and custom system-on-chip design.
Synopsys introduced version 2012.06 of their IC Compiler software. The latest release of IC Compiler release includes multiple advances to support giga-performance design. IC Compiler 2012.06 helps IC designers achieve higher clock frequencies more efficiently. Synopsys’ IC Compiler 2012.06 features optimizations that can boost operating clock speeds, expanded support for highly fragmented floorplans and new technologies that address advanced process effects.
Synopsys introduced IC Compiler-Advanced Geometry, which is a new configuration of their IC Compiler physical design product. IC Compiler-Advanced Geometry is a DPT-compliant place-and-route solution that will provide designers moving to 20 nanometers with an advanced solution. Synopsys has successfully collaborated with foundry partners and major customers to validate that IC Compiler is 20nm-ready.
Synopsys released IC Compiler 2010.03 physical implementation solution. IC Compiler 2010.03 offers performance improvements across the board. Early results show that IC Compiler 2010.03 is delivering more than 3X faster runtimes compared to the previous tapeout flow. IC Compiler 2010.03 is available now. It includes a quad-core license enabling multi-core processing as a standard feature.
