The 49th Design Automation Conference includes keynote speakers from ARM, IBM, Intel and the National Tsing Hua University. DAC 2012 will feature at least 60 technical sessions on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. This year’s conference will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, from June 3-7, 2012. DAC is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDA Consortium), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is supported by ACM’s Special Interest Group on Design.

The first webinar, QorIQ Qonverge – Complete Wireless Solutions for Small to Large Cells, will take place March 24 at 2:00 pm CT. It will be hosted by ENEA and Freescale Semiconductor. The second webinar, HPC – Innovative technologies for power management based on Power Architecture, will take place March 29 at 10:00 am CT. It will be hosted by IBM. The two webcasts are ideal for people dealing with power management issues in embedded mobile networking and high performance compute (HPC) applications.
The 2011 Common Platform Technology Forum will take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center on January 18th. The forum will present technical details of the 28nm HKMG design for low-power applications. The event will also include technology advancements in SoC enablement solutions, materials science, process technology and manufacturing. The Common Platform alliance was formed by IBM, Samsung Electronics and GLOBALFOUNDRIES. The alliance focuses on jointly developed digital CMOS process technologies and advanced manufacturing.
Power.org will offer seven sessions at Power Architecture. The sessions will feature insights and practical design tips for engineers working with Power Architecture technology. The Linley Tech Processor Conference will take place September 27 – 28th at the Double Tree Hotel in San Jose. Synopsys will take part in a technical session and breakfast at ARM TechCon3. ARM, the Common Platform (IBM, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing ,and Samsung Electronics) alliance, and Synopsys will discuss the new level of collaboration necessary to address the cost and technical challenges associated with advanced mobile SoC design and manufacturing. The event will take place Wednesday, October 21st, 8:30am – 10:30am at the Santa Clara Convention Center (Ballroom H).
