Thanks to ADLINK Technology, engineers can download AD-Logger and DAQBench for free. AD-Logger is a ready-to-run data capture application. DAQBench provides ActiveX controls used for creating professional instrumentation applications using ActiveX development environments. AD-Logger and DAQBench are compatible with ADLINK’s full range of data acquisition modules and digitizers. Both tools are compatible with 32-bit Windows XP/7/8.
Altia rolled out Altia Design 9.2 DeepScreen 6.0, PhotoProto 2.0 and FlowProto 1.5 HMI engineering tools for embedded systems. The tools enable engineers to build user interface models. Altia Design 9.2 DeepScreen 6.0 now supports targets like OpenGL ES 2.x, OpenVG and Linux Framebuffer. FlowProto 1.5 pulls logic and structure out of Microsoft Visio and converts it to XML. PhotoProto 2.0 now features enhanced exporting options, integration capabilities with other tools and improved animation capabilities.
Elektrobit (EB) rolled out version five of their EB GUIDE tool chain for HMI development. EB GUIDE Studio is an interactive tool for the development of HMI designs for infotainment systems, navigation applications and classical or freely-programmable instrument cluster. EB GUIDE supports developers from the model to production-ready code, permitting the development and testing of graphical interfaces on the desktop and on the target system. EB GUIDE GTF 5.0 is available for evaluation on the Freescale i.MX51.

Amulet Technologies introduced GEMstudio drag-and-drop GUI development environment for creating color touchscreen human-machine-interfaces (HMIs) for embedded systems. GEMstudio integrates tools for visual layout, interactive PC based simulation, and programming of the flash memory in the target embedded hardware. GEMstudio is a true WYSIWYG GUI design tool that requires no coding for the GUI design. GEMstudio can compile the entire GUI and program it directly into flash memory on the target device. GEMstudio is available now for $499.
EB (Elektrobit) announced a new XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) plug-in to connect the EB GUIDE Studio HMI development tool to Microsoft Expression Blend. As a result, complex HMIs developed with Expression Blend and the description language XAML can now be easily specified and administered. The XAML plug-in for EB GUIDE Studio will be available from EB in the first quarter of 2010.
