The 50th Design Automation Conference (DAC) is taking place this week. The conference features SKY Talks, DAC Insights, Training Day and Visionary Talks from industry luminaries. The 2013 event will take place at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas from June 2-6, 2013. DAC is dedicated to the electronic design, design automation, IP, embedded systems and software industries.
The 2013 Design and Verification Conference (DVCon) will feature twelve technical sessions, ten tutorials, a poster session with over twenty posters being presented, and two panels throughout the conference. DVCon is a conference for the discussion of the functional design and verification of electronic systems. The event is sponsored by Accellera Systems Initiative, an independent, not-for profit organization dedicated to creating design and verification standards. VCon will take place February 25 – 28 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California.
DesignCon 2013 will feature over 100 in-depth tutorials, technical paper sessions, panel discussions, presentations and an educational forum. The two-day event is ideal for engineers in the chip, board and systems design community. DesignCon 2013, which is hosted by UBM Electronics, will take place January 28-31 in Santa Clara, California. Early bird pricing for the conference, which provides registrants with $250 in savings, ends on Friday, December 7, 2012.
Cadence Design Systems is holding a Low-Power Technology Summit. The event will be keynoted by UC Berkeley Professor Jan M. Rabaey. He is the author of Low Power Design Essentials (Integrated Circuits and Systems). Rabaey will address power issues that impact today’s chip designers. The one-day technical conference will take place on October 18th at Cadence Design Systems in San Jose, California. The event is free.
Cadence Design Systems is hosting a summit next week. Their Mixed-Signal Technology Summit is a venue for customers and partners to learn about and discuss the latest technologies and methodologies for mixed-signal design. The event will take place next Thursday (September 20th) from 8:15 am to 6:15 pm at Cadence Design Systems, Building 10 auditorium (2655 Seely Ave, San Jose, California, 95134). The event is free.
Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas announced the Smart Energy Forum. The online event will cover the latest smart energy technologies. Avnet’s Smart Energy Forum will discuss a range technologies and applications, from those that generate, convert and control energy, to the communications technologies used in applications that monitor and manage energy in consumer and industrial settings. The virtual event will feature sessions presented by Fairchild Semiconductor, Freescale Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors and STMicroelectronics. The forum takes place on Wednesday, May 16 and registration is free.
The upcoming Measurements Roadshow will feature experts from National Instruments, Honeywell and PCB Piezotronics. The half-day event is free and will take place in sixteen European countries in April and May. The NI Measurements Roadshow will explore techniques for acquiring, analysing and presenting data using PC-based data acquisition systems with real-world sensors. The event is ideal for engineers and scientists.
The International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design will take Monday, March 19 through Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at TechMart, Santa Clara. The 13th annual ISQED features talks by experts that cover multiple topics related to electronic design and semiconductors. Speakers and attendees include designers, users, and providers of integrated circuits (IC) and systems, semiconductor packaging, assembly and test technology, as well as Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. The conference includes 22 technical sessions with close to one hundred papers. It also features keynotes, tutorials, workshops and exhibits with a focus on the latest innovations in electronic design.

The Embedded World Exhibition & Conference 2012 will take place next week, February 28th to 1st March 1st. The conference features 900 international companies and 300 lectures. International speakers will cover all areas of embedded system development. The annual Embedded World event will take place in Nuremberg, Germany. This year’s conference includes a Machine-to-Machine communication (M2M) area, forums, electronic displays, international pavilions, and a keynote by Mike Muller (CTO at ARM).
