Cadence Design Systems introduced the industry’s first Automotive Ethernet Design IP and Verification IP (VIP) for the latest Automotive Ethernet Controllers. The new IP and VIP offering helps engineer to easily implement the latest automotive requirements and create advanced Ethernet-based products for in-vehicle communication. Cadence’s Design and Verification IP enables the development of Ethernet-based products for in-vehicle communication.
EVE introduced e-zTest 10GbE, which is a 10-Gigabit Ethernet validation platform for their ZeBu (Zero Bugs) family of system-on-chip (SoC) hardware-assisted verification platforms. The e-zTest 10GbE software is a transaction-based environment for high-speed validation of 10GbE functions in network routers, switches and controllers, and SoC application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) containing 10GbE ports.
Cadence Design Systems introduced 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet media access controller and physical coding sub-layer IP cores. The new Cadence 40/100 GbE MAC and PCS IP cores speed the deployment of SoCs for networking and high-performance computing. The design IP, including MAC and PCS, as well VIP, emulation and virtual prototyping support, are available now.
Mentor Graphics introduced their next-generation platform to accelerate the verification of 100-Gigabit Ethernet products. The platform features the Veloce family of emulation products and the iSolve Ethernet Switch solution. The Mentor platform enables network equipment designers to test complete systems, including software and hardware, and employ real-world network traffic early in the development cycle. The solution is available now for deployment.
XMOS and Attero Tech introduced a reference design for audio/visual bridging (AVB) applications. The reference design features the XCore XS1-L2 dual-core processor. XCore processors enables engineers to implement the AVB standard entirely in software, which reduces development times and decreases risk for A/V designs. XCore processors also reduce the cost for AVB endpoints by more than 50% compared to other solutions (such as FPGA implementations). The reference design will be generally available from both XMOS and Attero Tech in December.

Data Translation introduced VIBpoint Precision Measurement System for sound and vibration. VIBpoint is a series of vibration measurement products for sound and vibration applications including noise emission monitoring, predictive maintenance, and shock analysis. The series includes both USB and Ethernet (LXI-compliant) hardware options. VIBpoint Precision Measurement System is priced starting at $7,695. Products will ship in 4-6 weeks.
Synopsys introduced the DesignWare Ethernet Quality-of-Service (QoS) Controller IP. Synopsys’ DesignWare Ethernet IP solution supports the IEEE 802.1AS and 802.1-Qav version D6.0 specifications. These specifications enable efficient networking of streaming audio video (AV) applications through IEEE 802.1 networks found in consumer electronics, automotive AV and professional sound system products. The DesignWare Ethernet QoS Controller supporting 10/100/1G data transfer rates is available now.
Data Translation introduced the DT8837 high performance Ethernet (LXI) data acquisition instrument module for sound and vibration measurement applications. The DT8837 samples up to four 24-bit IEPE accelerometer input channels independently at up to 52.7kHz per channel or 210kHz total throughput. In addition, the DT8837 offers a 24-bit stimulus output, and a 31-bit synchronized tachometer channel for data streams that are matched in time for field or laboratory use. The DT8837 is priced at $3995 and ships 6-8 weeks ARO.
