Mentor Graphics introduced a new Flowmaster tool for system level thermo-fluid simulation. The Flowmaster Power and Energy software tool features a two-phase solution that models the phase change from liquid to vapor for steam generation or from vapor to liquid when steam is consumed. The new Flowmaster tool will be available this summer and will support Windows 7 64-bit and Enterprise deployment. The product is ideal for the power generation applications.
International SEMATECH Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI) announced the Total Equivalent Energy Calculator II (TEECalc II). The web-based software tracks and evaluates the energy performance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in order to reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency. TEECalc II helps IC and equipment manufacturers identify areas to make critical energy performance improvements to their process equipment and facilities. TEECalc II capabilities have been expanded and improved from TEECalc I. The TEECalc II is available now.
Energy Micro announced the energyAware Profiler energy debugging tool for their 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3-based microcontroller kits. The energyAware Profiler tool reads the kits’ Advanced Energy Monitoring (AEM) system data and enables simple graphical visualization and optimization of application energy consumption and code. The energyAware Profiler Windows software is available as a free download.
Energy Micro introduced a development kit for their EFM32 Gecko MCU family. The EFM32 Gecko Development Kit is an Advanced Energy Monitoring (AEM) system for engineers. Thanks to a large in-built LCD screen and preconfigured GUI, AEM enables developers to accurately view a prototype application’s current consumption data in real time, enabling early identification and removal of adverse energy drains. The EFM32 Gecko development kit is priced at $299 USD.
