IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM v6.5 Compiles 10% Faster

IAR Systems launched version 6.5 of the IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM. The latest version includes expanded integration and new functionality. In addition, enhancements to the optimization technology in the powerful IAR C/C++ Compiler result in even faster code execution. The new version of the embedded workbench tool also includes a new License Management System (LMS) that adds features such as commuter licenses, automatic license activation and support for virtual servers. The new LMS makes it easy for customers to administer and manage licenses.

IAR KickStart Kit for Freescale i.MX25

IAR Systems introduced the KickStart Kit for the Freescale i.MX25 family of low power ARM9-based microprocessors. The IAR KickStart Kit for i.MX25 includes an i.MX25-SK evaluation board, IAR Embedded Workbench, IAR visualSTATE, and a hardware debug probe. The evaluation board features 32 Mbyte of SDRAM, 1 Gbyte of Flash memory and a 320 x 240 colour TFT LCD display. A range of on-board sensors includes key buttons, LEDs, potentiometer, 3-axis accelerometer, stepper motor and a speaker. The IAR KickStart Kit includes interfaces for USB Host, Ethernet 10/100, UART, CAN, and JTAG.

LDRA Tool Suite Integrates with IAR Embedded Workbench

The LDRA tool suite has integrated with IAR Embedded Workbench for the PIC18, AVR, AVR32, and MSP430 microcontrollers. IAR Embedded Workbench provides full ANSI C compliance, support for embedded C++, and host-controlled I/O facilities. LDRA leverages the capabilities to add static analysis, code coverage to Modified Condition/Decision Coverage (MC/DC), and requirement traceability on these resource-constrained footprints.

IAR Embedded Workbench 5.4 Supports ARM Cortex-R4(F) Processor

Version 5.40 of IAR Embedded Workbench now supports ARM supports ARM Cortex-R4(F) processor. IAR Embedded Workbench is a set of development tools for embedded applications. The package includes an editor, project management tools, a C and C++ compiler that generates highly optimized code for the combined ARM/Thumb-2 instruction set, a C-SPY simulator as well as run-time libraries, relocating assembler, linker and librarian tools. The compiler can check against the rules of MISRA C (MISRA C:2004) software development standard as established by the Motor Industry Software Reliability Association.
