Renesas Electronics announced the Velocity Lab, which is a suite of embedded systems development components. Velocity Lab enables engineers to develop embedded solutions quickly, easily and cost-effectively. Velocity Lab supports Renesas’ 90-nanometer (nm) SH7254x and SH7253x MCU families for powertrain applications. Renesas is also developing a Velocity Lab solution for the R8C and the V850 microcontroller families and expects to also port the solution to the RX Group and other MCUs in the future.
The Mentor Embedded ReadyStart Platform is a ready-to-use solution for quickly developing medical, industrial, automotive and consumer devices. The ReadyStart Platform consists of integrated software IP, tools, and services for various hardware boards and system-on-chips (SoCs). The Mentor ReadyStart Platform for Nucleus is priced at $24,995. It includes the Nucleus RTOS, wired and wireless connectivity middleware, and Inflexion UI runtime engine for a single project with two developer seats.
Tektronix introduced the the TLA6000 Series logic analyzers. The TLA6000 offers high-end debug and analysis for embedded systems designers. The TLA6000 logic analyzers are available in 68, 102, and 136 digital channel configurations with 125 ps high speed timing on all channels, up to 450 MHz state timing and up to 128 Mb record length. The new logic analyzer is now available globally. The TLA6000 Series has a base system configuration price of $19,800 U.S. MSRP. The TLA6000 Series is ideal for debug and analysis applications — including signal integrity analysis, FPGA debug and verification, MIPI protocol analysis, memory system validation, and embedded software integration and debug.
Silicon Laboratories launched a web-based library of schematic symbols and printed-circuit board (PCB) footprints. The online symbol library features PCB footprints and schematic symbols that are available for download in a vendor neutral format. The library speeds the development of embedded system applications based on Silicon Labs’ embedded mixed-signal products.
Pebble Bay is offering a series of embedded systems workshops for engineers. The training will present the fundamentals of developing code for embedded systems. Seminar topics range from cross development to hardware interface development. There will be two two workshop sessions each day. The sessions are titled “An Introduction to Embedded Software Development Using C” and “An Introduction to Hardware Interfacing and Device Driver Development.” The sessions will be held at Birmingham and Bristol on September 28th and 30th respectively.
