ANSYS and Apache Design announced a series of free seminars about simulation software platforms and methodologies that meet integrated circuit (IC) power, performance and price demands for low-power mobile, high-performance computing, consumer and automotive electronics. The events will take place in Boston, Massachusetts; Santa Clara and Los Angeles, California; Austin, Texas.
Docea Power rolled out version 2.2 of their Aceplorer software for modeling and optimizing electronic design power consumption, early in the design cycle, at the architectural level. Aceplorer v2.2 features a library of generic blocks that can be used as a starting point for creating libraries of components including Intellectual Property (IP)-based power description models.
The Asia Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ASQED2010) will take August 3-4, 2010 in Penang, Malaysia. The conference features keynote speeches by industry leaders and experts from Synopsys, Texas Instruments, University of Tokyo, Elabs, and Silicon Hive. It also includes tutorials and over 70 technical presentations. Papers will also be presented in three parallel tracks. ASQED 2010 corporate sponsors and supporters include Synopsys (Titanium Sponsor), Cadence Design Systems, Silterra, and NIMOS.
At DAC 2010, ECSI (Electronic Chips & Systems design Initiative) is offering a workshop titled, Choosing Advanced Verification Methods. The workshop will present a survey of recent verification solution advances and will bring insight into the effects these technologies are having on leading edge design projects. Measurable impact on quality, time-to-market, schedule, efficiency, and actual ROI will be analyzed. Participants will be able to hear from real engineers about their verification problems and their experiences in the deployment of these technologies.
Imec and Holst Centre have developed integrated sensing elements for gas detection. The polymer-coated microbridges in high-density arrays can detect ppm-level concentrations of vapors using on-chip integrated read-out techniques. Thanks to the low power consumption (<1 mW/bridge) and small form factor, the technology is ideal for the miniaturization of electronic nose devices.
Zocalo Tech has added new assertion-based verification capabilities to the Zazz product family. The new options are Zazz Bird Dog, Zazz Metrics, Zazz Visual SVA and user-defined assertion library support. The capabilities simplify and support the adoption of an ABV methodology to improve electronic design and Intellectual Property (IP) quality and increase verification productivity. Zazz Bird Dog, Zazz Metrics and Zazz Assertion Library Support are available now. Zazz Visual SVA will be available in October.
The deadline to submit a paper for the Asia Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ASQED) is April 23. ASQED accepts and promotes papers related to circuit and system design (digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal), semiconductor manufacturing, advanced IC packaging, test, Electronic Design Automation (EDA), as well as emerging semiconductor nano/bio-technologies, and photovoltaic electronics. The conference is produced by the International Society for Quality Electronic Design (ISQED). ASQED will be held in Penang, Malaysia, August 3-4, 2010.
The 2010 International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED) will take place March 22-24, 2010 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, CA. Speakers from Cadence Design Systems, Denali, eBeam Initiative, HelloSoft, Inphi, Mentor Graphics, and Synopsys will discuss challenging issues about quality in electronic design. The Keynoters offer comprehensive perspectives about design, process, and tool methodologies.
Holst Centre, imec, and TNO teamed on a dual-gate-based organic RFID chip with record data rate and lowest reported operating voltage. The advantages of dual gate transistors in circuit speed and robustness have been used in a complex organic-electronic circuit. Further and ongoing work will demonstrate the viability of the technology towards industrial uptake.
The 2010 International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED2010) conference will feature nine multiple interactive tutorials covering challenging design issues. ISQED2010 features 7 keynote speeches by industry leaders, 23 technical sessions with nearly 150 papers in three parallel tracks, panel discussions and vendor exhibits. The conference will take place March 22-24, 2010, at the Doubletree Hotel, San Jose, Calif.
