Tensilica ConnX Atlas Reference Architecture for Long-Term Evolution

Tensilica announced the ConnX Atlas LTE (Long-Term Evolution) reference platform. ConnX Atlas LTE is a heterogeneous seven-core reference architecture for a complete multi-standard programmable radio for advanced mobile devices. Atlas is designed to support the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) LTE standard and other complementary standards such as HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access), in a single platform. General availability of the platform will occur in early 2011.

Synopsys DesignWare 3G DigRF, CSI-2 Controller, and D-PHY MIPI IP

Synopsys introduced three new DesignWare MIPI IP. The DesignWare consists of 3G DigRF Controllers and PHYs for MIPI DigRF V3 standard interface; CSI-2 Synthesizable controller for MIPI CSI-2 Host application; and D-PHY Physical Layer for MIPI CSI-2, DSI, and UniPro standard interfaces. The DesignWare 3G DigRF master and slave controllers and PHY, CSI-2 host controller and D-PHY are available now in 65nm and 40nm process technologies.

AnVoip and AnVoice VoIP Voice Engines for Google Android

Adaptive Digital Technologies introduced the AnVoip and AnVoice VoIP voice engine software for Google Android software stack for mobile devices. The fielded algorithms are provided as off-the-shelf algorithm sets, integration-ready for quick inclusion into an Android application. The VoIP voice engine components, anVoip, and anVoice are packaged to supply either basic or enhanced voice capability to the Android-powered device. Algorithms may be added a-la-carte per a customer’s requirements. Custom application development by Adaptive Digital is also available.

OpenWF Standard for Building Composited Windowing Systems

The Khronos Group released the OpenWF 1.0 standard. OpenWF is an operating system-independent and hardware-neutral foundation for building windowing systems and providing display control functionality in accelerated mobile and embedded devices. OpenWF enables a new degree of portability, acceleration and abstraction for windowing systems, while adding functionality and features through close integration with Khronos application APIs. OpenWF acts as the underlying route to the display for advanced graphics and multimedia content generated using APIs such as OpenGL ES for fast and portable 3D graphics, OpenVG for vector graphics acceleration, and OpenMAX for multimedia.
