Atollic introduced TrueSTUDIO for ARM v3.2. The integrated development environment for embedded microcontroller designs now offers RTOS-aware debug support for real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS, OpenRTOS, ThreadX and embOS. The ARM development tool is an integrated C/C++ solution with features for multicore debugging, improved code quality, team collaboration and increased developer efficiency. Atollic TrueSTUDIO v3.2 helps engineers to quickly develop embedded systems with higher quality and at lower cost.
element14 is hosting a webinar tomorrow. The webcast will present a step-by-step guide to debugging an ARM based design with the Keil ULINK-ME debug adapter. Attendees of the webcast will also be invited to apply to RoadTest the Keil ULINK-ME, bundled with an ARM Cortex-M processor-based STM32 series development kit. element14′s RoadTest Group enables developers to test and review new products, and post their results and findings on the element14 Community. The online seminar is a part of their Design Flow Series webinar series. The free event will take place on June 19, 2012, at 10 am EST (16:00 CET).
SynaptiCAD rolled out a new version of their V2V translator software. The SynaptiCAD V2V tools translate between VHDL and Verilog source code that supports Verilog 2001 code constructs. SynaptiCAD also announced that their BugHunter Pro can now be used as a graphical debugging environment for translating and testing the new models.
Concept Engineering introduced StarVision PRO, which is an integrated debugging cockpit for A/MS and digital design. StarVision PRO makes analysis and debugging of complex SoC and IC designs easy and more transparent. StarVision PRO provides engineers with the ability to quickly and easily understand and debug mixed-mode designs and to integrate IP building blocks into complex SoCs and ICs.
Kozio introduced ValidationAssistant, which is a unified, interactive, embedded hardware verification environment. Kozio ValidationAssistant uses an interpreter that runs directly on the processor of the target device. The tool simplifies hardware control, automates test execution, and maintains test cases in a structure that maximizes reuse across the entire product life cycle: engineering, production, and field test. The ValidationAssistant verification environment is available now.
PLS Programmierbare Logik & Systeme recently announced version 3.0.7 of their Universal Debug Engine (UDE). UDE 3.0.7 features optimized test and debug functions for the NXP LPC4300 dual-core system-on-chip (SoC) family and offers unlimited dual-core debugging under a single user interface. The LPC4300 features an asymmetrical dual-core digital signal controller (DSC) architecture and two processors (ARM Cortex-M4 and Cortex-M0). The two processors operate with their own clock supply and their own power management, but the communication takes place via a shared memory.
EVE has enhanced the design debugging capabilities of their ZeBu (for Zero Bugs) emulation platform. ZeBu now features Combinational Signal Access (CSA), which enables engineers to dynamically generate complete waveforms of designs. Combinational Signal Access improves productivity and lowers the cost of ownership. CSA comes as a standard component to the ZeBu family. It is available now and, initially, works with zFast, ZeBu Fast Synthesis used with ZeBu emulation systems.
Universal Debug Engine (UDE) 3.0 is the latest debugging tool from PLS Programmierbare Logik & Systeme. UDE 3.0 features unique visualization capabilities, an enhanced Eclipse integration and extensive dedicated support for a wide range of high-end microcontroller architectures. Universal Debug Engine 3.0 is available for all 32-bit and 64-bit versions from Windows XP to Windows 7. The tool can be integrated at no extra cost in Eclipse environments based on Ganymede 3.4.x, Galileo 3.5.x and Helios 3.6 with the appropriate C/C++-IDE (CDT 5.0.x,6.0,7.0).
SynaptiCAD rolled out the latest version of BugHunter Pro, which is a VHDL and Verilog testbench generation and debugging tool. The updated version of BugHunter Pro supports 64-bit versions of Mentor Graphics ModelSim and Cadence Incisive simulators. A node-locked license for BugHunter sells for $2500 on Windows. Floating licenses sell for $5000 on Windows and $6000 on Unix. A node locked copy of the WaveFormer/BugHunter product bundle sells for $4000 on Windows.
Energy Micro announced energyAware Designer. The free software tool helps engineers with the time-consuming problem of debugging I/O pin conflicts. energyAware Designer ensures correct pin configuration and automatically generates set-up code and documentation. EnergyAware Designer simplifies MCU configuration and documentation, and lets engineers concentrate on developing the application.
