Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas and Texas Instruments will host a webinar about TI’s C2000 portfolio of fixed point, floating point and multi-core processors. The webcast will focus on advanced motor control techniques, digital light emitting diode (LED) control and renewable power in solar power systems. The web-based training seminar will take place March 15, 2012, at 9:30 am PDT (11:30 am CDT, 12:30 pm EDT). The title of the 60-minute webinar is: Optimizing Energy Efficiency in Digital Power Designs
The IQmath Library for microcontrollers, from Texas Instruments (TI), now supports both the 32-bit C2000 and Stellaris MCU platforms. The TI IQmath Library is an optimized collection of high-precision mathematical functions. The library enables programmers to seamlessly port floating-point algorithms into fixed-point code. Developers can use the software to achieve execution speeds considerably faster than equivalent code written in standard ANSI C language. The IQmath Library speeds development and addresses the limitations of fixed-point math by eliminating time-consuming scaling and saturation burdens. IQmath software is free and available for download through StellarisWare software or C2000 controlSUITE software.
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced their C2000 MCU Teaching ROM and enhanced floating-point F28335 Delfino microcontroller (MCU) Peripheral Explorer Kit. The free C2000 Teaching ROM is a comprehensive guide to C2000 MCUs. It also provides an introduction to real-time control design considerations. The Teaching ROM and Peripheral Explorer Kit will help engineers to leverage the performance of C2000 MCUs to develop more energy-efficient real-time control applications, such as motor control, digital power, renewable energy, and lighting. The F28335 Peripheral Explorer Kit (TMDSPREXF28335) is priced at $179 US and is available now. The C2000 Teaching ROM can downloaded now.
Dongbu HiTek will host a webinar on power management and control. The webcast is titled, New Analog and BCD Technology Releases. The webinar will discuss the latest advances in Analog CMOS and BCDMOS chip design/processing technologies and how they can be applied to perform more efficient and smarter power control and management. The online seminar will take place April 21, 2010 at 12:00 PM PDT (3:00 PM EDT) and (replay starts April 22, 2010).
Simulink PLC Coder, from The MathWorks, is a tool that generates IEC 61131 structured text for programmable logic controller (PLC) and programmable automation controller (PAC) devices. With Simulink PLC Coder, engineers can automatically generate code for industrial control systems, including closed-loop and supervisory control applications. Simulink PLC Coder enables Model-Based Design for manufacturing and power generation equipment controlled by PLCs and PACs. Simulink PLC Coder is available now. U.S. list prices start at $10,000.
Texas Instruments announced the DesignStellaris 2010 design contest for embedded engineers. Each entry will be judged equally on technical merit, originality, usefulness, cost-effectiveness and design optimization by an independent panel of judges. Additional points will be awarded for the use of the StellarisWare IEC60730 library and for applications that improve safety or reliability with SafeRTOS. DesignStellaris 2010 contest will take place through June 23, 2010.
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced controlSUITE software for their TMS320C2000 microcontrollers (MCUs) that enable real-time control applications. controlSUITE software simplifies evaluation, application adaptation, debug, test, and reuse. C2000 controlSUITE software includes libraries and examples that are full, open source projects, serving as true development systems for applications such as motor control. In addition, a new installer eliminates frustrations related to versioning and dependencies and gives developers access to the complete software offering in a centralized location.
National Instruments introduced the LabVIEW Robotics 2009 development platform for designing robotic and autonomous control systems. NI LabVIEW Robotics 2009 features an extensive robotics library with connectivity to standard robotic sensors and actuators, foundational algorithms for intelligent operations and perception, and motion functions for robots and autonomous vehicles.
The ZigBee Alliance introduced the ZigBee Remote Control, which is the new global standard for advanced RF remote controls. ZigBee Remote Control features non-line-of-sight operation, two-way communication, longer range of use and extended battery life for a variety of consumer electronic (CE) devices including HDTV, home theater equipment, set-top boxes, and other audio equipment. ZigBee Remote Control is the first public application profile designed specifically for use with the ZigBee RF4CE specification.
