The latest version of Vector Fields Software’s electromagnetic and multiphysics simulation software suite includes many new capabilities and enhancements. The tool helps engineers to accelerate analysis time. By harnessing the parallel processing capabilities of multi-core processors, computational time can be significantly reduced using Opera-3d version 16.
Cobham Technical Services has an on-demand webinar titled, Introduction to Rotating Electrical Machine Design using Opera. The webcast will help designers of electric motors and generators use finite element analysis (FEA) techniques to accelerate product development and improve design accuracy. The online seminar is ideal for electromagnetic and electromechanical analysts, as well as engineers who are currently using analytical design packages for rotating machines. The 47-minute audio/visual presentation is now available in English and French.
Cobham Technical Services rolled out version 15 of their Opera electromagnetics simulator for design engineers. Opera v15 includes three-dimensional mechanical stress analysis, which extends the tool’s multiphysics capability to provide a single-step solution for complex design problems. Opera version 15 also supports the rapid creation of models of coils. It does this by providing a dynamic pictorial representation of the model under construction, to guide the engineer as design data is entered.
The QUENCH electromagnetic software tool, from Cobham Technical Services, now features a library containing manufacturer-supplied material characterization data for Sumitomo Electric’s DI-BSSCO bismuth-based superconducting wire. QUENCH is a tool for modeling the quenching process in superconducting materials. The QUENCH tool for modeling the superconducting quenching process is available as part of Cobham’s Opera CAE software suite for low frequency electromagnetic simulation.
