SpringSoft and Vennsa Technologies teamed together to integrate the SpringSoft Verdi Automated Debug System and Vennsa OnPoint Root Cause Analysis. The seamless interoperability between the two tools enables engineers to increase verification productivity and decrease the chip debug burden. The integrated Verdi and OnPoint platform is available now.
Synopsys introduced their CustomExplorer Ultra mixed-signal verification environment. CustomExplorer Ultra is a comprehensive regression and analysis environment. It increases verification productivity and streamlines the verification process for analog and mixed-signal designs. Synopsys CustomExplorer Ultra is part of their Discovery Verification Platform. The CustomExplorer Ultra mixed-signal verification environment is available now.
Agilent Technologies introduced IC-CAP WaferPro (Integrated Circuit Characterization and Analysis Program Wafer Professional) software. WaferPro is a multi-site, multi-wafer, automated DC and RF measurement solution for semiconductor device modeling applications. IC-CAP WaferPro enables engineers to control semiautomatic and fully automatic probe stations. Agilent WaferPro automates spot and swept measurements across a range of temperatures. WaferPro is distributed with the Agilent IC-CAP 2010.08 software.
Atrenta launched SpyGlass-Physical tool for early implementation analysis. SpyGlass-Physical provides early estimates of area, power, timing and routability for RTL designers without the need for physical design expertise or tools. The tool helps to achieve performance targets in concurrent block/SoC development processes by using interactive implementation analysis features. The result is enhanced guidance for the actual implementation of both IPs and full-chip SoCs. SpyGlass-Physical is currently in limited deployment.
Express Logic launched TraceX/MC, which is a multicore enabled and expanded version of their TraceX graphical real-time event analysis tool. TraceX/MC enables embedded developers to visualize and better understand the behavior of real-time systems by showing thread and core activity graphically across a common timescale. TraceX/MC runs on the Microsoft Windows operation system. Licenses cost $1,000 per developer seat, with no license keys required.
Magma Design Automation introduced FineSim Fast Monte Carlo, which is a new alternative to traditional Monte Carlo analysis. FineSim Fast Monte Carlo makes it possible to achieve much more accurate statistical analysis as much as 100 times faster than traditional Monte Carlo methods. FineSim Fast Monte Carlo is available now for production use with FineSim SPICE and FineSim Pro for fast, accurate statistical circuit analysis.
Magma Design Automation launched Tekton timing analysis platform. The Tekton platform includes QCP, which is a fast, high-capacity, full-chip extractor that delivers results with the accuracy of the industry standard, QuickCap. Tekton and QCP are in limited release. According to Magma, Tekton is the only STA solution that meets the multi-scenario analysis problems of today and five years from now — on a single machine without any investment in new hardware. General availability will begin in June 2010.
Sigrity introduced PowerDC Thermal analysis software. PowerDC Thermal eliminates manual iterations between simulations with separate electrical and thermal tools, reduces time, and improves results convergence. It is ideal for avoiding field failures. PowerDC with DC analysis, thermal analysis, and co-simulation capability is available on Windows and Linux platforms. Annual prices start at $30,000. PowerDC Thermal also is available as an added option for currently licensed Sigrity PowerDC users. It adds thermal analysis and co-simulation to the present DC analysis capability. Annual prices start at $15,000.
AdaCore introduced CodePeer analysis tool. CodePeer can be used either as a standalone tool or fully integrated into the GNAT Pro Ada development environment. It is highly flexible. Performance can be tuned based on the memory and speed available on the developer’s machine. CodePeer can also efficiently exploit multi-core CPUs. The source code tool can be run on partially complete programs and it does not require stubs or drivers. CodePeer is available immediately.
Synopsys introduced PrimeTime 2009.12 static timing and signal integrity (SI) analysis tool. The latest version of PrimeTime features threaded multicore processing and speeds timing signoff by 2x. Synopsys’ PrimeTime 2009.12 tool enables design teams to achieve optimal runtime performance across heterogeneous multicore compute environments by utilizing distributed and threaded multicore processing in tandem.
