Tanner EDA announced a seminar for next week. The title of the event is Driving Innovation in Image Sensors and High Speed Analog/Mixed-Signal Design. The Lunch & Learn seminar will be moderated by SemiWiki founder Dan Nenni and will discuss the challenges and opportunities for improving productivity in analog and mixed-signal (A/MS) IC design. The seminar will take place on Thursday, October 24th, at TechMart in Santa Clara, California.
Tanner EDA introduced the latest version of HiPer Silicon full-flow analog and mixed-signal design suite. HiPer Silicon v15.23 includes HiPer Simulation AFS and Tanner Analog FastSPICE (T-AFS), which integrates the Berkeley Design Automation Analog FastSPICE Platform with Tanner EDA’s S-Edit schematic capture and W-Edit waveform analyzer.
Synopsys’ unified mixed-signal IC design solution has been qualified for TowerJazz’s power management analog/mixed-signal reference design flow (Reference Flow 2.0) and 180-nanometer (nm) Power Management (PM) interoperable process design kit (iPDK). Synopsys’ tool suite, the foundry iPDK and reference design flow are verified to seamlessly work together to enable designers to quickly become productive.
X-FAB Silicon Foundries will conduct a webinar about ESD protection. The webcast will explain how to eliminate the threat of electrostatic discharge that can cause irreversible damage to integrated circuits. The free hour-long online seminar will take place Tuesday, March 6, 2012 and Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The X-FAB webinar is titled, On-Chip ESD Protection in Complex Analog/Mixed-Signal and High-Voltage Designs.
Concept Engineering introduced StarVision PRO, which is an integrated debugging cockpit for A/MS and digital design. StarVision PRO makes analysis and debugging of complex SoC and IC designs easy and more transparent. StarVision PRO provides engineers with the ability to quickly and easily understand and debug mixed-mode designs and to integrate IP building blocks into complex SoCs and ICs.
Magma Design Automation introduced the Titan Analog Layout Accelerator (ALX) and the Titan Analog Virtual Prototyper (AVP). Titan ALX and Titan AVP accelerate the creation and optimization of new analog design layouts, and automate the reuse of existing analog layouts in new processes and technologies. Titan ALX automatically migrates an existing analog layout to a new target technology without any DRC violations while preserving analog design intent. Titan AVP creates fast and accurate device-level prototypes and captures layout-dependent proximity effects early in the circuit design phase. Titan ALX and Titan AVP will be in production release in June 2010.
X-FAB Silicon Foundries will host a webinar about optimization techniques for analog mixed-signal SoC designs. The online seminar provides an overview of optimization techniques for advanced analog/mixed-signal SoC designs, showcasing X-FAB’s 0.35 micrometer foundry platform. The hour-long webcast will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 8:30 am PDT (11:30 EDT) and 9:30 am CEST (3:30 China/Taiwan and 4:30 Korea/Japan).

SmartDRD technology enables layout engineers to more quickly achieve design-rule-check (DRC) clean designs with significantly reduced effort for analog and custom designs. SmartDRD automates many DRC repair tasks. Until now, custom layout has been primarily handled using manual methods. With SmartDRD technology, layout engineers can identify and fix DRC violations in just seconds.
