Posted by Ken Cheung in EDA Tools on Thursday, May 27, 2010

Data Translation introduced VIBpoint Precision Measurement System for sound and vibration. VIBpoint is a series of vibration measurement products for sound and vibration applications including noise emission monitoring, predictive maintenance, and shock analysis. The series includes both USB and Ethernet (LXI-compliant) hardware options. VIBpoint Precision Measurement System is priced starting at $7,695. Products will ship in 4-6 weeks.

VIBpoint Framework Application - Data Translation VIBpoint Precision Measurement System for sound and vibration

VIBpoint Ethernet (LXI) Instrument

  • Dedicated 24-bit resolution, Delta-Sigma A/D converter per channel
  • IEPE or voltage inputs
  • 16 analog inputs, Tachometer input
  • Up to 52.7 kS/s sampling
  • Includes VIBpoint Framework Application and all accessories required for a total solution

VIBpoint USB Instrument

  • Dedicated 24-bit resolution, Delta-Sigma A/D converter per channel
  • IEPE or voltage inputs
  • 16 analog inputs, Tachometer input
  • Up to 105.4 kS/s sampling
  • Includes VIBpoint Framework Application and all accessories required for a total solution

The VIBpoint Precision Measurement System provides data analysis using FFT (Fast Fourier Tranforms) modes for linear, exponential, and peak hold. The data can then be displayed or saved to disk. VIBpoint is available in USB or Ethernet versions and comes in modular packaging with all necessary interconnect cables. Both solutions offer 24-bit simultaneous analog inputs for high resolution measurements. The Ethernet version includes ISO-Channel inputs that provide 1000V galvanic isolation for complete signal protection in rough industrial environments. In addition to the data analysis functions, the included VIBpoint Framework Application software supports all the features of the hardware and allows the user to discover and select available hardware, configure all input channel settings, and save/load hardware configurations.
