CoWare Introduction to LTE UE Synchronization Webinar

Posted by Ken Cheung in Events, Training on Tuesday, February 23, 2010

CoWare is offering a webinar about LTE UE Synchronization. The one-hour webcast will take place on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 (2:00 pm Pacific | 5:00 Eastern). The Introduction to LTE UE Synchronization webinar will present an overview of the cell search process, an introduction to the primary synchronization signal (PSS) and secondary synchronization signal (SSS), and explain how to detect the PSS and acquire frame and slot timing.

During the one-hour webinar, CoWare will demonstrate some of the features of the LTE User Equipment (UE) acquisition and synchronization process. The webinar will show how CoWare SPW can be used to help visualize the equations described in the LTE specs. CoWare will also show some algorithms which may be used for primary synchronization signal (PSS) and secondary synchronization signal (SSS) detection for slot and frame timing acquisition. The online seminar will conclude by outlining a methodology for implementing these algorithms in dedicated hardware or an application-specific processor.

The webinar will be presented by Louie Valeña, who is a Field Applications Engineer at CoWare in Japan. He has been involved in developing digital communications systems for satellite, mobile and fixed systems. Valeña has designed subsystems ranging from digital pre-distortion power amplifier linearizers, frequency synthesizers to transmitters and receivers using discrete analog parts, DSPs and FPGAs. He received his BSEE from the University of the Philippines in 1987 and his MSEE from the University of Southern California in 1995.
