pls Programmierbare Logik & Systeme announced version 2.6 of their Universal Debug Engine (UDE) 2.6. The Universal Debug Engine is a test and debug environment for all derivatives of Infineon’s XC2000/XE166 family of 16-bit microcontrollers. The UDE 2.6 supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. A complete Eclipse integration with complete cross debugger functionality is included in the extensive test and debug tool.
Universal Debug Engine v2.6 supports the XC2200 family (body), XC2300 family (safety), XC2700 family (powertrain), and XE166 family (industrial). If required, not only is the software tool made available to pls users, but also special emulation devices as well as adapters for devices in 64-pin and 100-pin packages.
The Universal Emulation Configurator 2 (UEC2) is also included in the toolbox. The UEC2, as an add-on to the UDE 2.6 together with the emulation devices XC2080ED (144-pin) or XC2090ED (176-pin), enables a simple recording of the program and data flows as well as a targeted observation of all relevant system processes on the chip. As a result, even complex application-specific errors can be quickly located and eliminated.
Version 2.6 of the Universal Debug Engine offers many additional functions for the current TriCore derivatives of Infineon’s AUDO FUTURE family. For example, the UDE 2.6 and the Universal Access Device (UAD) 2 product family from pls are now also usable together with commonly available calibration tools from ETAS on the same target.
