CoWare is offering a one hour webinar on developers working on LTE designs or WiMAX. The webinar is titled LTE Physical Layer Performance Optimization. The webcast will take place Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 9 am Pacific time (12:00 Eastern). The online event will provide an overview of the LTE physical layer design and discuss how design choices can impact design implementation and performance for basestation, handset and semiconductor manufacturers as well as for network operators.

LTE features a new modulation scheme, OFDM, and extends the multi-antenna MIMO methods of HSPA resulting in many new design challenges. The webinar will discuss these new design challenges including resource element mapping, spatial multiplexing, rank adaptation, MIMO channel modeling, MIMO channel estimation, and MIMO receiver design. The webcast will explore the impacts on design implementation and overall system throughput.
CoWare will also demonstrate how their LTE solution can be used to study the cell search operation of the handset as well as the random access preamble detection in the basestation (or eNodeB). In addition, CoWare will explore how the flexibility of CoWare’s technology helps to model use cases for both handset developers as well as basestation developers.
