Numenta HTM Workshop

The 2009 Numenta HTM Workshop is a workshop dedicated to exploring Hierarchical Temporal Memory (HTM) and the Numenta Platform for Intelligent Computing (NuPIC). It will take place on Thursday, June 25, at the Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose, California. The event will feature the release of the beta version of Numenta’s Vision Toolkit, keynotes by Numenta co-founders Jeff Hawkins and Dileep George, and a first look at HTM applications – including a preview of a smart video application under development at Vitamin D, Inc.

Numenta is creating a new type of computing technology modeled on the structure and operation of the neocortex. HTM is based on a theory of neocortex first described in the book On Intelligence by Numenta co-founder Jeff Hawkins, and subsequently turned into a mathematical form by Numenta co-founder Dileep George. HTM technology is applicable to a broad class of problems from machine vision, to fraud detection, to semantic analysis of text.

The workshop is targeted towards engineers and will be highly technical. Attendees are expected to have a basic understanding of HTM and NuPIC.
