DesignCon Discussion Panels Feature Virtutech

Posted by Ken Cheung in Events, Training on Thursday, January 29, 2009

Virtutech will present at two panel discussion at DesignCon. Virtutech will also demonstrate its Simics virtual platform and its hybrid simulation capabilities at the Power.org Booth #753 and EVE-USA Booth #116. Virtutech Simics will be demonstrating hardware and software validation of PCI-Express devices. Virtutech and EVE have partnered to integrate Simics and EVE’s ZeBu in a virtualized system development (VSD) platform.

  • Multicore and Virtualization Key Enablers for Next-Generation Network Architecture
    1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PDT
    Monday, February 2, 2009
DesignCon 2009, Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California

In this panel, Virtutech will join other experts to explore the needs of multicore enablement at different system stages from instruction set architecture (ISA) to compilers, OS, debugging, simulation and IPs. The session will link with the technical initiatives undertaken by the Power.org technical committee and capture proposed items in advancing multicore/virtualization based on power architecture. The DesignCon panel will discuss the need for multicore in response to future requirements of high performance and in support of enabling next-generation class of applications and services with rich multimedia content.

  • Power Architecture Ecosystem Solution Offerings
    10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. PDT
    Thursday, February 5, 2009
DesignCon 2009, Room #212. Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California

In this presentation, Virtutech will discuss the new range of development and debug challenges embedded software developers face when shifting to multi-core based systems. This presentation will review the most common forms of these new challenges and show how a Virtutech Simics Virtualized System Development environment can simplify the process. Dickson will also discuss the best practices in multi-core software development.
