NEC Fabricates Carbon Nanotube Transistor with Coating Process
NEC Corporation announced the successful development of a carbon nanotube (CNT) transistor using a coating process. The basic operation of the new transistor with advanced characteristics has been verified, confirming its application in the printed electronics field.

Renesas, Sharp, Powerchip Semiconductor Announce Joint Venture
Renesas Technology Corp., Sharp Corporation, and Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. announced an agreement to establish a joint venture specializing in drivers and controllers for small- and mid-size LCDs. Business operations related to these products will be transferred to the new company starting April 2008 for Renesas Technology, and by the end of fiscal 2008 for Sharp.

Micron Creates One-fifth Inch 2-MP Imaging SoC for Thin Mobile Phones
Micron Technology, Inc. (NYSE:MU), introduced a one-fifth inch 2-megapixel (MP) imaging system-on-chip (SOC) for thin mobile phones, PC cameras and personal digital assistants. The new imaging SOC (product number MT9D113) complements Micron’s portfolio of image sensor products based on its high-performance 1.75-micron pixel.
