Newark Reveals Winners of Live EDGE Challenge
Newark and Premier Farnell plc (LSE:pfl) announced the winner of the 2007 Live EDGE challenge as John Noble from Malaysia. John has designed a product called MyFan, a ceiling fan that combines an electronically commutated motor and controller, and aerodynamically efficient blade design that reduces fan input power by up to 66%.

Toshiba Corp. (Toshiba) announced the development of technology for a 16-gigabit (Gb) NAND flash memory chip, fabricated with 43-nanometer (nm) process technology co-developed with SanDisk Corporation of Milpitas, California.

Texas Instruments Announces GC5322 Wireless Transmit Processor
Texas Instruments (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced a single-chip wireless transmit processor that combines digital upconverter (DUC), crest factor reduction (CFR), and digital pre-distortion (DPD) linearization functions. The GC5322 device eliminates the need for more costly high-performance RF power amplifier components.

National Instruments Introduces USB Digitizers, Digital Multimeter
National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) announced the release of the NI USB-5132/5133 digitizers and the NI USB-4065 6½-digit digital multimeter (DMM). They are shipped with NI LabVIEW SignalExpress LE interactive measurement workbench software for quickly acquiring, analyzing and presenting data with no programming required.
