Analog Devices Debuts Data Converter Evaluation And Development Toolkit
Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is introducing an advanced Converter Evaluation and Development (CED) toolkit that is the industry’s first to combine leading data converter evaluation technology with a robust end-product development environment. Thanks to a flexible design that provides four interface ports and up to eight separate power supplies, the CED toolkit platform is capable of shaving six to eight weeks off the converter selection and design-in process.

Spectrum Announces General Purpose Temperature Sensor
Spectrum Sensors and Controls introduces a general purpose temperature sensor that combines excellent thermal response, high accuracy and rugged construction in a low cost package. This sensor assembly is easy to use to monitor air temperatures or it can be installed in a thermowell for liquid sensing which makes it ideal for standard controllers or data loggers.

Strategy Analytics Comments on Motorola’s Mobile Device Business
Motorola’s announcement that it will examine the realignment of its Mobile Device Business unit is the latest in a long list of partnership announcements in the high volume, high R&D, volatile margin handset business, after Sony-Ericsson, Casio-Hitachi, Panasonic-NEC and most recently, Kyocera-Sanyo. Although this announcement is sure to set off a frenzy of M&A speculation, an outright acquisition is highly unlikely.

Intel Sponsors Embedded Systems Conference India
CMP announced that the second annual ESC India 2008 will be held October 14-17, 2008 at the NIMHANS Convention Center in Bangalore to bring together the global embedded community. Intel has signed on to be the Platinum Sponsor. The event has been expanded based on the success of the 2007 inaugural event and will also include three regional events in Hyderabad, Prune and Noida.

NEC Electronics to Showcase Gate Array ASICs at DesignCon 2008
NEC Electronics America, Inc. will showcase custom silicon solutions from its gate array ASIC products in booth #301 at the DesignCon 2008 conference and exhibition, running February 4 through 7 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. On average, NEC Electronics tapes out more than 200 gate array designs a year worldwide.
