Wind River, Cavium Networks Team on Multicore Device Debugging
Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND) and Cavium Networks (NASDAQ:CAVM) announced the immediate availability of their advanced multicore device development solution. The solution couples Wind River’s Workbench On-Chip Debugging and Wind River Compiler with Cavium Networks OCTEON multicore processors, providing customers with a simplified development environment encompassing a complete development ecosystem, on-chip debugging tools, compilers, support and knowledge.

STMicroelectronics Unveils Precision Digital Temperature Sensors
STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) announced a new series of precision digital-output temperature sensors, operating over the -55 to +125 degrees C temperature range, which are ideal for low power applications in a broad range of product areas. The cost-competitive STxx75 devices are software-compatible drop-in replacements for industry-standard LM75, DS75 and TCN75A parts, and also complement ST’s STLM20 analog temperature sensor, now being used in several mobile phone designs.

TI Creates bq27510 System Side Battery Fuel Gauge with Impedance Track
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced two new battery fuel gauge devices with integrated low-dropout regulators (LDOs) for smart phones, mobile Internet devices and media players with embedded or removable batteries. The new system-side and battery pack-side fuel gauges build on TI’s popular family of integrated circuits (ICs) that predict battery life with 99-percent accuracy to extend run-time, protect data and provide a better user experience.

Powerchip Semiconductor, IMEC Partner on sub-32nm Memory Research
Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), a leading Taiwan-based memory semiconductor supplier offering Dynamic Random Access Memory chips (DRAMs) and Flash memory chips, has entered into a partnership with IMEC, Europe’s leading independent nanoelectronics research center, to perform research and development for the sub-32nm memory process generations.

AKA Introduces PRISM300 Prepackaged Reconfigurable System-on-Module

Altera Receives Awards for Arria GX FPGAs
Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) announced the Arria(TM) GX family of low-cost, transceiver-equipped FPGAs has received two distinguishing industry recognitions. From the EN-Genius Network, Arria GX FPGAs received the annual “Product of the Year” award for Best Value High-Performance FPGA. National Instruments Joins Multicore Association
National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) announced it has joined The Multicore Association, a global nonprofit organization focused on developing standards that help shorten time to market for products that involve multicore implementations.
