Selecting the Right Isolation Solution Webcast

Posted by Ken Cheung in Events, Training on Tuesday, December 4, 2007

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) and Arrow Electronics Inc. is offering a live Analog eLab(TM) Webcast. The event will take place Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. CST (18:00 hrs CET). The webinar is titled "Selecting the Right Isolation Solution."

The webcast will highlight the various isolation options available to electronics designers and discuss relevant criteria for selecting a solution for their applications. The webinar will also discuss isolation technologies and standards, and offer tips on selecting an appropriate solution.

Design engineers can choose from a wide selection of isolation technologies such as capacitive, optical and inductive/magnetic to implement galvanic isolation. However, the designer must contend with isolation standards that govern voltage ratings and creepage/clearance distances. The Analog eLab panelists will provide an understanding of the pitfalls and benefits of selecting the right isolation solution for the design and help simplify the choices.

During the lab session, the panelists will perform a series of tests to confirm the appropriate isolation solution has been chosen. Tests include high-voltage time-elapse and skew and jitter tests, as well as a common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) test.
