Strategic Test Announces UF2e-6110 Arbitrary Waveform Generator Card
Strategic Test, one of the world’s leading suppliers of PC-based instrument boards, has announced the UF2e-6110 two-channel 125 MS/s 8-bit Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) PCI Express card. Crossware ARM Development Suite Supports Atmel AT91SAM9263 Microcontroller
Crossware, a leading embedded software tools developer, has enhanced its ARM® Development Suite by adding support for the Atmel AT91SAM9263 ARM-based microcontroller. The Crossware enhancements allow developers to rapidly exploit the advanced features of this chip by providing a combination of wizards, simulation, debugging, compiler extensions and pre- configuration. This allows the developer to immediately take advantage of the advanced C/C++ compiler and other tool chain components and simplifies the otherwise complex task of setting up an the AT91SAM9263 chip. Blue Planet Retrofit DPF Data Logger Features Ramtron Processor Companion
Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq: RMTR), a leading developer and supplier of nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (F-RAM) and integrated semiconductor products, has announced that Blue Planet Co. Ltd., a leading Korean supplier of retrofit diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems and diagnostic modules, has designed Ramtron’s FM3130 and FM3104 Processor Companions into its DMS-series retrofit DPF data loggers.

Concurrent Unveils TP 442/34x 3U CompactPCI Single Board Computer
Concurrent Technologies introduces their latest 3U single/dual slot CompactPCI® single board computer (SBC), the TP 442/34x. Using the latest mobile processors from the Intel® embedded roadmap, the 1.5 GHz or the 2.16 GHz Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo processor, the board is suitable for low power data-intensive processing applications whereby the processor’s dual-cores can access up to 2 Gbytes DDR2-667 SDRAM. This versatile 3U SBC supports a variety of peripheral I/O ports, an optional PMC/XMC module and can operate in a system slot, peripheral slot or as a blade. Imsys Introduces IM3220-BA10 MCU and Single Board Reference Module
IEEE 1588 is a clock synchronization standard for communication devices, which has seen a dramatic increase in interest over the past year. Texas Instruments Makes Equity Investment in VirtualLogix

Renesas Debuts H8SX/1700 Microcontrollers with Enhanced 32-bit CISC
Renesas Technology America, Inc. announced the H8SX/1700 microcontroller series, featuring an enhanced H8SX 32-bit CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computer) CPU core with a higher maximum operating frequency of 80MHz. This speed, combined with the new powerful H8SX CPU that incorporates a barrel shifter, enables the new devices to achieve 89 MIPS performance in the Dhrystone benchmark — 85 percent more than the 48MHz devices with the previous H8SX CPU core. The initial product in the H8SX/1700 series is the H8SX/1725F, a device with 256Kbytes of on-chip flash memory built with Renesas’ advanced 0.15-micron process MONOS (Metal Oxide Nitride Oxide Silicon) process technology for embedded flash.

GE Fanuc Introduces ICS-8560 XMC/PMC Digital Transmitter Module
Once again demonstrating the company’s leadership in the development of advanced, high performance solutions for Software Defined Radio (SDR) applications, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms announced the ICS-8560 rugged XMC/PMC digital transmitter module. Designed for use with the company’s V4DSP 6U VME FPGA/PowerPC digital signal processing platform, the ICS-8560 offers two channel operation with sampling frequencies up to 400 MHz. Featuring the Xilinx Virtex-4 (FX60 or FX100) FPGA in combination with onboard DAC (Digital-Analog Conversion) resources, the ICS-8560 allows VHF waveforms to be processed and converted directly on the XMC module.

Toshiba Selects Mentor Graphics Catapult C Synthesis
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced that Toshiba Information Systems (JAPAN) Corporation has adopted Mentor Graphics Catapult® C Synthesis tool to develop their next-generation application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) for audio, communication and image processing systems. Toshiba Information Systems (JAPAN) Corporation selected the Catapult C Synthesis tool based on the product family’s maturity and the productivity improvements it offers compared to other high-level synthesis methodologies.

ASSET InterTech Acquires International Test Technologies
ASSET InterTech, Inc., has acquired International Test Technologies (ITT) of County Donegal, Ireland, a supplier of processor emulation technology used by electronics manufacturers. ASSET provides boundary-scan (aka IEEE 1149.1 or JTAG) systems for test, in-system programming (ISP) and design-for-test (DFT), as well as for advanced embedded instrumentation applications involving signal integrity analysis, bit error ratio testing (BERT), pattern generation testing and others.

OKI, Fujitsu Developing Automated Teller Machine Software
Oki Electric Industry Company Limited (TSE: 6703) and Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702) announced their collaboration in developing next-generation ATM (Automated Teller Machine) software. The companies have completed development of a prototype of the software using a Web-based architecture. The product will be released in Japan during fiscal 2008, beginning next April, and the companies plan to sign up 200 customers over the initial three-year period.
