MontaVista TestDrive is a virtual evaluation center that enables embedded Linux developers to test the full capabilities of MontaVista Linux Professional Edition and DevRocket developer tools. MontaVista TestDrive is a hosted web service for evaluating MontaVista Linux on a target processor and reference board of the developer's choosing. TestDrive can shrink the time required for the technical evaluation of embedded Linux, of development tools, and of candidate hardware platforms from months to days. TestDrive eliminates the cost of buying software and hardware for evaluations, and the hard work necessary to acquire and build evaluation systems.

Using MontaVista TestDrive, developers can build and run test applications on MontaVista software virtualized on several major hardware platforms by Virtutech Simics. Developers can quickly determine the technical fit of MontaVista Linux for the project without a large investment of money or time.
