Genoa Color Receives Patent for Multi-Primary Color LCD Display
Genoa Color Technologies Ltd. has been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Genoa was issued U.S. patent number 7,268,757 for the “Device, system and method for color display” for an LCD display using multi primary colors.

Tektronix Creates Test Solution for DisplayPort 1.1
Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading, worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced a new test solution for the DisplayPort 1.1 standard. The solution represents a complete bench for engineers wanting to optimize and validate the performance of their DisplayPort designs. Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced DPOJET, a new Jitter and Eye Diagram Analysis software application for DPO7000 and DPO/DSA70000 Series oscilloscopes. NEC, Skyley Networks Announce Compliance of ZigBee Platform

Virginia Tech Students Create DARwIn Fully Autonomous Humanoid Robot
Engineering students from the Robotics & Mechanisms Laboratory (RoMeLa) at Virginia Tech have developed a bipedal humanoid robot using the National Instruments LabVIEW graphical system design platform. The Dynamic Anthropomorphic Robot with Intelligence (DARwIn) was originally developed to study human locomotion for the research and development of prosthetic limbs. DARwIn achieves full range of motion and accurately imitates human movement so effectively that it was quickly modified to play soccer for entry into RoboCup, an international robotic soccer competition created to promote research in robotics, artificial intelligence and related fields. As a result, it has been accepted as the first-ever U.S. entry into RoboCup in the humanoid division.

DSM Computer Introduces Galaxy Control Cabinet PCs
With the new family of “Galaxy®” control cabinet PCs, DSM AG augments its segment of 19-inch industrial computers from the Infinity® series and its embedded systems of the NanoServer® series with an additional product line. The control cabinet PCs have either four free PCI slots or three free PCI and one PCI Express x1 to allow the installation of a wide range of long or short plug-in cards. These free slots allow the industrial computers to be extended with the usual modules required in plant and machinery construction, such as CAN bus, field bus (LON, PROFIBUS, InterBus, DeviceNet, etc.), or with additional controller cards.
