ST Unveils Cartesio STA2062 Automotive Processor with Embedded GPS
STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a world leader in automotive semiconductors, introduced its new automotive-grade application processor with embedded GPS for navigation and telematics. The Cartesio processor perfectly couples with ST’s GPS RF chip (STA5620), creating a unique offering that significantly reduces the form factor and bill-of-materials with no compromise in performance.

FormFactor Introduces Harmony Wafer-Level Burn-In Probe Card
FormFactor, Inc. (Nasdaq:FORM) announced the introduction of the latest addition to its Harmony(TM) family of full-area, 300-mm wafer probe solutions—the Harmony Wafer-Level Burn-In (WLBI) probe card. The Harmony WLBI probe card is designed to maximize throughput, as well as ensure higher quality and reliability of semiconductor devices. The Harmony WLBI probe card sets a milestone with the ability to contact approximately 40,000 test pads in one touchdown, enabling the testing of an entire 300-mm wafer at high temperature (up to 130 degrees Celsius). This capability helps IC manufacturers meet their reliability and performance requirements at the lowest cost of test.

DS2 Creates 400Mbps Powerline Technology
DS2 announced that it has developed technology that will allow next generation powerline products to operate at a peak data rate of 400Mbps. This milestone will enable the development of new HD-capable multimedia applications, such as multi-channel HD-IPTV delivery or multi-room PVR.

Technosoft Intelligent Drives, Motors Support CANopen
All Technosoft intelligent drives and motors now support CANopen. Embedding motion control, drive and PLC functionalities in a single compact unit they cover all type of brushless, DC, linear or step motor applications from 25 W (45 V, 0.5 A) up to 3 kW (325 V, 10 A). The motors (brushless and stepping) integrate power electronics, controller, position sensor and interface in one compact unit with basic local digital and analog I/O signals.
