DAFCA Incorporated, the leading vendor of on-chip reconfigurable infrastructure and tools for on-chip, at-speed silicon validation, announced a distribution agreement with TRIAS Mikroelektronik GmbH in response to the increased customer demand in Europe. TRIAS will provide all sales and technical support for the ClearBlue(TM) silicon validation platform for SoC and ASIC design teams in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Poland and Romania.

These devices provide the only low-cost, truly secure means of preventing product counterfeiting and/or piracy of Intellectual Property (IP) and OEM parts. CryptoMemory uses a 64-bit embedded hardware encryption engine, four sets of non-readable, 64-bit authentication keys and four sets of non-readable, 64-bit session encryption keys to provide a higher level of protection than products based solely on EEPROM technology.
Atmel Introduces ATA6623, ATA6625 LIN System Basis Chip
Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) announced the availability of its ATA6623 and ATA6625 LIN system basis chips (SBCs), which are designed in compliance with the LIN 2.0 specification and the SAEJ2602 standard. The new devices incorporate Atmel’s 2nd generation LIN transceiver that provides the industry’s best EMC performance and has obtained approval from major OEMs worldwide. Thanks to Atmel’s high-voltage BCD-on-SOI technology SMARTIS(TM) and the SO8 power package, the devices can operate at supply voltages up to 40V. Applications include automotive comfort applications such as door modules, seat control or intelligent sensors, and powertrain applications.

Colorfront Selects DVS-SAN with DataDirect Networks Components
In mid-July, Hungarian post production house Colorfront made a decision to acquire a 43-Terabyte DVS-SAN. This centralized storage system will provide the renowned post production house with extremely fast storage and administration capabilities for its resource-intensive projects. The customer settled for a massive-parallel DVS-SAN with DataDirect Networks (DDN) components. The system is the only one capable of handling six uncompressed 2K streams simultaneously in real time. With this version of its DVS-SAN, DVS achieves extremely high data rates while simultaneously fulfilling data security requirements by implementing a RAID-5 system.
