Texas Instruments Creates TPS728185315 LDO for Handheld Devices
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced the first dual-level 200-mA low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator with simple dynamic voltage scaling in a tiny, five-ball chip-scale package. The flexibility of this device benefits applications that require two levels of output voltage regulation for programming of eFUSE or SIM cards with additional memory, such as wireless handsets, PDAs, smart phones, MP3 players and other handheld devices.

Berkeley Design Automation Opens Office in Surrey, United Kingdom

EZchip Introduces NPA Network Processors for Ethernet Access

UMC 65nm RFCMOS Process Ready for Customer Design-in
UMC (NYSE: UMC), a leading global semiconductor foundry, announced that its 65-nanometer (nm) RFCMOS process is ready for customer design-in. Several customers are engaged for this advanced RF process, which is targeted for next generation wireless system-on-chip (SoC) applications including WiFi, WiMax, wireless USB, and cellular. The RF process is derived directly from UMC’s standard 65nm CMOS logic process, which was qualified in early 2006 and is currently in volume production for a variety of customer products. Full compatibility with UMC’s standard CMOS logic/mixed-mode process enables easier integration of different SoC features such as mixed-mode, memory, analog and RF elements.

Diodes, Inc. Unveils Ultra-Low Dropout Regulators for Portable Apps
