Hynix Semiconductor Creates Smallest 1Gb Mobile DRAM
Hynix Semiconductor, Inc. announced it has developed the industry’s smallest 1 Gigabit mobile DRAM. Mobile DRAMs are widely used in wireless and handheld applications such as mobile phones, digital still and video cameras, PDAs, PMPs, and GPS Navigation systems. These products are now designed in smaller and smaller packages reducing the size of the battery. Hynix’s Mobile DRAMs are designed to meet the memory requirements of feature-rich portable applications that demand high memory density, high throughput and very low power dissipation features in a small form factor package.

Tektronix to Utilize NI TestStand for Automated Compliance Test Suite
Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading, worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced it will develop an automated framework designed for receiver, transmitter, and interconnect compliance testing of high speed serial data standards using NI TestStand test management software from National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI). NI TestStand provides an open and flexible development environment, providing a platform for Tektronix and other companies to create effective test solutions.

AnalogicTech Multifunction LED Drivers Simplify Lighting Circuit Design
Advanced Analogic Technologies Incorporated (AnalogicTech) (Nasdaq: AATI), a developer of power management semiconductors for mobile consumer electronic devices, announced two new high-performance charge pump products which enable designers to build dramatically smaller, more feature-rich mobile handsets. The AAT2846 and AAT2856 combine backlight drivers, high-current flash drivers and two general purpose low-dropout (LDOs) linear regulators in a single 4×4 mm package. Designed to eliminate multiple ICs in space-constrained portable applications, these new devices also maximize design flexibility by offering independent control for backlight and flash current drive via separate single-wire digital interfaces.

Fox Electronics Oscillators Extend Battery Life for Portable Applications
Fox Electronics, America’s leading supplier of frequency control products, now offers two upgraded lines of SMD oscillators with reduced power consumption that provide an extended usable battery life for portable and battery-powered applications. Fox’s RoHS compliant F330A and F530LA oscillators offer reduced heat generation to prolong battery life, which is paramount in offering a viable portable product.

Excel Updates WinA&D Modeling, WinTranslator Reengineering Tools
Excel Software is shipping a new version of the WinA&D modeling tool and WinTranslator reengineering tool that supports PHP software design, code generation and model generation from code. PHP is a modern scripting language for procedural and object-oriented programming. It drives popular web sites that often grow into large-scale development projects. WinA&D adds PHP modeling enhancements and code generation from class diagrams or structure charts. Often PHP programs provide the glue between web pages and a database engine. Data models drawn in WinA&D can generate the SQL schema.
