Mellanox NFS-RDMA SDK for InfiniBand Delivers 10X Throughput Improvement
Mellanox(TM) Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ:MLNX) (TASE:MLNX), a leading supplier of semiconductor-based, server and storage interconnect products, announced the general availability of the NFS-RDMA SDK (Network File System over Remote Direct Memory Access Software Development Kit) for its InfiniBand adapter products. The SDK supports the OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) version 1.2 software stack and delivers 1.3GB/s (gigabytes per second) of read throughput and 600MB/s (megabytes per second) of write throughput over a single InfiniBand link – a ten fold improvement to existing NFS over Gigabit Ethernet solutions available in the market.
National Instruments Creates Compatible with LabVIEW Program
National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) announced a new program to validate that third-party products are compatible with the National Instruments LabVIEW graphical programming environment. Beginning in August, companies can verify their products are compatible with NI LabVIEW using requirements provided by National Instruments. Once companies meet the requirements and their application for the Compatible with LabVIEW Program (Program) is approved by NI, they receive the new Compatible with LabVIEW logo subject to the terms of the Program agreement. NI is establishing the Program to help customers make more informed purchasing decisions and take the guesswork out of selecting new technology.

Winbond Develops First Serial Flash Memory with Quad-SPI
Winbond Electronics Corporation announced at the Flash Memory Summit the industry’s first Serial Flash memory with Quad-SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface). The W25Q16 16-megabit SpiFlash(R) Memory is the first in a family of high-performance memories ranging from 8 to 64 megabits, and features single, dual and quad I/Os in space- and cost-saving 8-pin packaging. The W25Q16′s Quad-SPI architecture allows for greater than six times the performance of the current generation of Serial Flash memories and offers a true code-execution (XIP) alternative to Parallel-NOR Flash.
Team-LUX Qualifies Lynx Vehicle for DARPA Urban Challenge
The decision for the DARPA Urban Challenge 2007 has been made. 36 driverless autos will be competing at the NQE (National Qualification Event) in the USA from October 26 to 31 to qualify for the finals of the world’s only autonomous automobile race. One of them will be LUX, the lynx vehicle of the German Team-LUX. The announcement was made in Anaheim, California.
