Juniper Networks Adopts Certess Certitude for Verification Closure
Certess, Inc. announced that Juniper Networks, the leader in high-performance networking, has adopted Certitude, the first commercial functional qualification software product for companies developing systems on a chip (SoCs) or integrating intellectual property (IP) blocks. Certitude certifies that if a semiconductor chip design had a bug, it would be found.

AMD, IBM, Mercury, RapidMind to Present at SIGGRAPH
RapidMind, developer of the award-winning RapidMind Platform, will be featuring technical presentations from guest speakers and RapidMind Chief Scientist, Dr. Michael McCool during SIGGRAPH 2007. Speakers will be discussing how digital media organizations are leveraging RapidMind’s technology to take advantage of the superior performance capabilities of the Cell Broadband Engine(TM) (Cell/B.E.) from IBM, GPUs from AMD(R) and NVIDIA(R), and Quad-core CPUs from AMD(R) and Intel(R). RapidMind will also be offering live demonstrations of the RapidMind Platform throughout the duration of SIGGRAPH 2007. RapidMind will be at booth number 249 on the SIGGRAPH expo floor.

CML Microcircuits, SPIRIT DSP Team on Low Bit-Rate RALCWI Vocoder IC
CML Microcircuits, a leading innovator and provider of low-power semiconductors for Global Wireless and Wireline communication markets, announced the introduction of a new RALCWI (Robust Advanced Low Complexity Waveform Interpolation) vocoder IC. The product is the result of a co-operation between CML Microcircuits and SPIRIT DSP. The new CML IC is named as the CMX618, which CML will market to worldwide communication markets based upon SPIRIT’s proprietary Low Bit-Rate Vocoder technology. The co-operation combines CML’s 39-year history of developing mixed-signal semiconductors for professional and leisure communication applications, with SPIRIT’s extensive experience in embedded voice products.

STARC Selects Blaze DFM for 65nm Lithography Simulation, Analysis
Blaze DFM, the electrical DFM company, has been chosen by the Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Center (STARC) to provide lithography simulation and analysis software that will be integrated into the STARCAD-CEL (Certified Engineering Linkage, one step ahead of DFM) reference design flow. With this methodology, STARC – Japan’s leading semiconductor technology research organization supported by Japanese IDMs – is establishing a process-friendly and low-power reference flow that strives to eliminate manufacturing uncertainty in sub-65nm system LSI designs.

Physik Instrumente Debuts P-733.3CD XYZ Nanopositioning, Scanning System
PI (Physik Instrumente) L.P. — a leading manufacturer of nanopositioning and piezo-based precision motion-control equipment for semiconductor, nanotechnology & photonics applications — offers the new P-733.3CD, XYZ nanopositioning & scanning system. These high-resolution piezo stages are designed for materials research, high resolution microscopy, ultra precision alignment and imaging applications. The parallel-kinematics design (only one common moving platform for XYZ) reduces the moved mass, and enables — together with the stiff design — higher operating speeds than other piezo scanning stages. A parallel metrology position sensor design provides highly accurate position information in all axes.

TeamF1 Rolls Out AuthAgent Kerberos 2.1 for Embedded Devices
TeamF1, Inc., the high-performance embedded networking and security software company, announced availability of version 2.1 of AuthAgent Kerberos, the latest update to its standards-based implementation of the Kerberos(TM) V Protocol for authentication of network clients and services in embedded devices.
